CIA's Panetta meets with Islamic leaders in Dearborn, MI
Immigration advocates are quick to intone that America is a melting pot, a diverse crucible of ethnicity that makes our country strong. Historically that may be true as immigrants came to America to become “Americans”. However today immigration is less about assimilation and more about changing America to be more like that place from whence you came.
There is another factor today that did not exist before and this single fact will change America forever. It begins and ends with fertility or birth rates.
According to research, in order for a culture to maintain itself for 25 years, it must have a birth rate of 2.11 children per family. Anything less than that and the culture will decline. In history, no culture has ever reversed a birth rate of 1.9 children per family or less.
Currently both Canada and the United States each have net birth rates of 1.6 and as we look at America’s European roots, we see that the entire EU consisting of 31 countries only has an average birth rate of 1.38 with Spain, Italy and Germany averaging 1.2. It is statistically impossible to reverse this trend yet in Europe overall population is on the increase due to massive amounts of immigration; Islamic Immigration.
In France for example the birth rate amongst native Frenchman is 1.8 children per couple, while the birth rate amongst Islamic immigrants is 8.1. Without any change, in a few decades, Europe as we know it will cease to exist. It will become an Islamic Continent with all the stability and fun stuff that brings. Europe will fall without a shot fired. It is irreversible at this point.
What about the United States? Without immigration, our birthrates are 1.6 but if you factor in Hispanic immigration the number jumps to 2.11, the minimum needed to sustain a culture; but what culture will that be? Will it be a place where English is spoken, where the basic tenets of our Constitutional Republic are honored and revered? Not likely. Just go to your local ATM and see which languages are vying for the top spot. My bet is on Spanish. No contest. Today’s immigrants are looking for change and change is what they, and we, will get, for better or worse.
What about Islamic immigration here in the US? IN 1970 there were 100,000 Muslim’s in this country. Today there are 9 million. Dearborn, Michigan is 33% Arabic and 29% of the homes speak Arabic as the primary language. Due to both legal and illegal immigration, we do not have too much to worry about in the short term about being overrun by Islamic fervor. When you add up all of the Muslim immigrants from all the nations on earth you still find that Muslim Immigration is way behind Latin immigration in the US…It is in second place.
If Europe is a guide, unchecked Islamic immigration will do what it has done to France, England and the rest of the EU. It is now only a matter of time before they each are Islamic Republics. It has been said by critics that Islam is not so much a religion as it is a system of government. One need only look at Iran, and other Middle Eastern countries to see shining examples of what Sharia law can do for you. While the US is a good distance behind those countries in terms of Islamic immigration, we do lead the world in Latin or Hispanic Immigration. It’s the old good news, bad news thing. Without Hispanic immigration or a sudden change in European-American mating habits, we cannot maintain the American culture as we know it. With it, the culture changes anyway. If Comprehensive Immigration Reform were really about maintaining a harmonious balance of diversity in America, we'd be recruiting Europeans in a big way. After all, in a few short years, they may be eligible for refugee status anyway.

Immigrants are aliens who carry a passport and obey the laws. Illegal aliens don't have a passport, and don't obey the laws. Aliens do not have a birth right of USA citizenship. An alien is not subject to the Jurisdiction of the USA, as they are traveling under a passport, except both an illegal alien and an alien under passport, have not relinquished bonds to their homeland, nor established allegiance to the USA, and the citizenship of the mother transfers to the child. Aliens can run to or call on their consulates or Embassy, for help, since they owe allegiance to and are subject to the jurisdiction of laws and treaties, of their homeland, not the USA . Fix the 14th!
I think it is already to late, Ca. has already turned brown. Love it or leave it ,I think I will move to Nevada
"Will immigration save America or change it forever?"
Yes - on both counts.
But it has ALWAYS changed America - last week, I went to an Octoberfest held in a majority Hispanic community (most of them descendents of people who were citizens here long before my own ancestors arrived).
Language fears are paranoia, not supported by facts. Study after study has shown that regardless of their country of origin, immigrants tend to speak English first by the second generation and, by the third, have lost the former mother tongue unless the family takes an active interest in keeping it.
I think your article is playing to theoretical fears then actual facts, you mention Sharia Law and Arab States but, you make no mention of actual Successful Arab States like the UAE or Egypt or Kuwait. Your interpretation of an Islamic Europe is also a fallacy, look at the real world statistics, even with a falling Birthrate in France, the other EU Nations are continuing their population growth and even if a sizable Arab and/or Muslim Population, the ability for that particular portion of population to hold political power is minimal (look at the US Congress, there is only 1 Black Senator)and then you refer to Immigration as a threat to American Culture, what is American Culture? is it Rock-n-Roll, that has roots in Africa; What about Baseball? Nope, that's derived from Rounders, a British Game; no matter how many immigrants come to the US they still keep vestiges of their Mother Country, look at Italians, the best thing we do as a society is we take the strengths of former Countries.
Remember GW Bush loved the A-rabs.
