Something calling itself the “Tea Party” issued a manifesto or political platform if you will yesterday and it has many activists upset. Not over what is in the “Contract From America” as it has been called but what isn’t. Namely front and center issues like Secure Borders, Immigration, Second Amendment Rights and Abortion.
While this is a draft document spearheaded by Republicans like Dick Armey, Sen. Jim Demint and a host of other tax protest and citizen activist groups, the “Contract”, unveiled at the annual CPAC, or Conservative Political Action Conference, lists twenty-two topics up for discussion. The organizers hope to whittle this down to a platform of ten by April 15, 2010 and require all candidates for office to sign it or risk the wrath of the voting public in November. Here are the topics or “solutions” that a draft committee presented:
- Stop the Tax Hikes
- Commit to Government Transparency
- Protect the Constitution
- Pass Real Healthcare Reform
- Sunset Regulations and Enact Fundamental Regulatory Reform
- End Runaway Government Spending
- Let Us Save
- Let Us Watch
- Protect Internet Freedom
- Pass an ‘All of the Above’ Energy Policy
- Give Parents More Choices in the Education of Their Children
- Demand a Balanced Budget
- Protect Freedom of the Press
- Protect Private Property Rights
- Reject Cap and Trade
- No Czar Regulation Without Representation
- No More Bailouts
- Audit the Fed
- Stop the Pork
- Enact Fundamental Tax Reform
- Stop Career Politicians and Curb Lobbyist Power
- Restore Fiscal Responsibility and Constitutionally Limited Government
While calling for ambiguous “solutions “like Let us Save and Let Us Watch (whatever that means) and proposing Real Healthcare Reform (didn’t know that healthcare reform was a conservative principle) the “Contract” is mum on the incendiary issues of the day like Immigration, Secure Borders, Gun Rights and Abortion. How can this be? The REAL Tea Party have among it's core many anti-illegal immigration and pro secure borders activists. Most are staunch Second Amendment supporters. Doesn't appear anyone thought to ask them first what THEY want from their politicians.
Iconic talk show host Michael Savage railed against the “solutions” yesterday adding that borders, language and culture, a consistent theme with Mr. Savage for a decade, are conspicuously missing from the document. Savage, like many Americans, is calling for English as the official national language, something politicians have been hiding from for years.
It appears that the Independent, grass roots “Tea Party” movement is going mainstream and is being co-opted by the Republican Party. At least the name is if not the people and activists need to send a strong message through the media that this is unacceptable. They also need to make it very clear that issues like immigration, secure borders and abortion are in the mix and any proposal that surfaces without them on April 15th will go right to the trash bin where it belongs. The Tea Party movement, the Real Tea Party Movement, had better get control of its core or all the work of the last year by populist activists will go down the proverbial drain.

Illegal Immigrants are addressed by the Law. They are criminals. No one needs to address their cause, they are criminals, they need to be arrested and deported.
The only "RIGHT" an illegal immigrant has is to a fair trial. That and they have the right to return to their own Country and get the hell out of ours.
What did you expect ? If you're going to lie down with dogs, you'll get fleas...
I for one have placed my life on hold over the past two years to fight this monster...we have all made sacrifices of both money and precious time away from our families and businesses...it is plain to see that the GOP, in it's usual deceitful way is purposely excluding those areas that might diminish their return at the ballot boxes...I live in Arizona and know first hand what the illegal immigration problem has done to this once prosperous state! Either get the "full demand list" into the contract or throw it in the trash where it belongs!
Jeepers, Carl, if you don't like their list perhaps you should start your own group, and then YOU could control the list...or join their group where you'll have some input, instead of sitting on the sidelines bitching.
The GOP is the reason that ears is in the White House. The current GOP will never "get it" or change their eliteist McCainian ways. Out with the old guard and in with new and real conservatives. Or, it will continue to be business as usual.
I am a Tea Party conservative. Let me make this very clear: Dick Armey is NOT, I repeat, NOT my leader. Dick, get lost.
This pathetic list that you put out is an absolute travesty. Leading off the list with "Pass real Healthcare reform"? Excuse me? Leaving out abortion, Illegal immigration and English as our official language just will not cut it and you RINOs are going to get this message loud and clear, along with your Democrat buddies in November. Leader indeed!
These damn R.I.N.O.s think they can co-op our Tea Party movement. To Hell with them. We don't want anymore coddling of illegal aliens. We want our borders secure. We want the rampant abortions stopped. We want certain people to not be allowed to immigrate here. These weak-willed politically correct S.O.B.s must be weeded out of our movement.
There are a lot of "self proclaimed" leaders in a leaderless movement to take back our nation who are trying to coop the issues all feel important while discarding those that do not fall in line with a New World Order.
In the 60's the left loonies, socialists and others of like mind got frustrated with running third party candidates to no avail. What to do next? Hmmmm, how about infiltrate and take over a party? So the move began and the party of choice, the liberal laden Democratic Party. It worked. All your "ism's" and other Politically Correct speech flows freely from there within as these progressives plodded (plotted) along with the end results of Obama being the fruit of their labor.
Hey, if it worked there...!! So the infiltration of the Republican party began and the march toward a "We Are The World" philosophy and dictatorship. Note, if you have a brain to do so or are not in denial, how the same PC speech and choices are starting to manifest within the RNC/GOP.
McCain was a setup. Both he and Obama were funded in the back ground by George Soro's, a man who made much of his wealth here and is hell bent on destroying our way of life.
(( See: eaglesnest2(dot)ning(dot)com for some background on McCain from the horses mouth, Col. Ted W. Guy, a personal friend and one of the most highly decorated vets from all era's, who was also McCains SRO (Senior) at the Plantation. Col. Guy started the Just Say NO To John McCain - just prior to Teds death )
It's a know fact that GOP/RNC on one side are trying to coop the peoples Tea Party movement and those who want to see the demise of our way of life, our freedoms from the other side spread dis information.
Thats why many boycotted the Tennessee Tea Party Convention.
Never Forget - Never Forgotten

This is what I was worried about. A National Tea Party with leaders and structure. "TEA Parties" were set up by an outraged, INDEPENDENT citizenry that hates government intrusion into their lives. It wasn't meant to run 3rd party candidates or to issue platforms. When it does, it becomes nothing more than a political machine that can and will be corrupted by people wanting to advance their own careers. Tea Parties are about the individual- not a collective.
Sosueme, if you had been to any of the original "Tea Parties" you would have seen the demonstrators holding various signs, including ones which read "Stop Illegal Immigration", "Stop Abortion".
Well, did CPAC invite any of the Tea Party leaders? My guess is no! Just a bunch of wannabee self proclaimed conserves...This list is so vague anybody can agree to is and have nothing done to them if they don't follow up with doing what is said....BECAUSE it is not CLEAR! Tell me what the heck does "Let us Watch" really mean? do they want everything telivised? Or is it open door? Like that will happen!
This king size a@#hole Armey should take a flying leap, he and his friends on both sides of the isle have put this country in the mess it is in and the tea party movement should not allow charlatans like this to drive the movemnet. I resent the fact that we must pay this bum his congressional retirement or for that matter any of the others that brought this country to the mess it is in now.
It would seem correct to me that only public figures who have walked the talk should be allowed to speak on behalf of the "Tea Party" How many of these so-called "leaders" have actually done so?
Who cares if they ignore some of the conservative talking points. Their main agenda is dealing with a bloated government who is taxing us to death and growing too powerfull.
Until there is something said about our massive illegal immigration problem and the crime that IS American retailers doing business with communist China where they openly force labor, torture and murder entire families, I see this as just the same old progressive Republican game of the past. No thanks DICK. Why don't you and all the rest of the progressives just give up on this not so slick ploy to co-opt the Tea Party Movement?
John McCain funded by Soros since 2001
Candidate's Reform Institute also accepted funds from Teresa Kerry
By Jerome R. Corsi
In 2001, McCain founded the Alexandria, Va.-based Reform Institute as a vehicle to receive funding from George Soros' Open Society Institute and Teresa Heinz Kerry's Tides Foundation and several other prominent non-profit organizations.
McCain used the institute to promote his political agenda and provide compensation to key campaign operatives between elections.
In 2006, the Arizona senator was forced to sever his formal ties with the Reform Institute after a controversial $200,000 contribution from Cablevision came to light. McCain solicited the donation for the Reform Institute using his membership on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
Here is a better list:
* Get government out of Health care and end restrictive insurance barriers
* Act on current laws regarding illegal immigration
* Cut the massive Government Spending and then cut some more
* End every corrupt government department and disband all grant recipient groups found guilty of fraud such as ACORN
* End the department of education
* Make term limits mandatory and permanent
* End all punitive taxation such as the death tax
* Reverse most restrictions on Energy and let us drill etc.
* Balance the Budget or go to jail
* Protect people from government abuse
* Reverse all federal actions against Private Property Rights
* Reject Cap and Trade and all other such scams
* No Czar Regulation Without Representation
* Reverse the Bailouts and hold trials for those responsible for it such as the Apollo group
* Audit the Federal Reserve and expose the massive crime that they perpetrate

The tea party movement does not look at social issues because then it would fragmnet itself. It was founded on the idea of controlling spending, stoping progressives and bringing back fiscal responsability. AFTER that is accomplished, we can look at the social issues don't try to bite more than you can chew is always a good principle, look at what happened to OBLAHMA for trying to do just that; oh I'm happy he did, otherwise he would have sneaked his socialism and noone would have noticed, but we have to do first things first.
more of the list. Fellow conservatives, feel free to add on to this.
# Disband, expose, and prosecute the ACLU for their crimes against America
# Enact Tax Reform called the Fair Tax
# Go back to allowing the Governors of the States to appoint senators in order to protect States Rights.
# Restore the Limited Government that the founders created
illegal immigration and its lawlessness is the number one issue, much of americas problems are caused by illegals and their drain on society and the theft of jobs the dumbing down of our schools the 30 per cent prison population the bankrupting of our hospitals and whole states like california and others, just the fact that they are breaking the law and uncle sam sanctions it encourages it and enables it to the detrement of all americans is unbelievable.
dont forget Disband, expose, and prosecute ACORN for their crimes against America
Dick your army of teapartyiers are gonna be irelevant real soon if you dont address real conservative issues like illegal immigration. As far as "pass healthcare reform",I thought the argument was keeping government out of healthcare?I'm starting to think the teaparty is a big scam to make all conservatives look like redneck idiots.Dick you and your ilk are marginallizing true conservatives.
Dick Army has wormed his way into the tea party movement......Yecch to all these phony b*stards!
Immigration and stopping amnesty are Number one to anyone wanting to salvage the country. These guys are just recirculated stale air....they need to get lost!
Tea Party is not smart enough and having no borders not on the list and immigration they are not real.
SUGGESTIONS FOR A CONTRACT WITH AMERICA
Problems that need to be resolved:
1. Illegal Aliens:
We need someone who is strong on stopping the illegal alien flow by closing our borders and willing to deport those who are entering our country illegally. This is of utmost importance if we are to save this nation. They have broken the law and need to be dealt with legally and President Bush is not doing it. There are up to 30 million illegal aliens in this country which contribute up to 25 to 30 percent of the prisoners in our prisons. If amnesty is granted to these thirty million illegal aliens, then each may bring another three to five more family members into our country thereby diluting the population beyond anything recognizable as the America we know today. This will lead us into a third-world nation. The free medical and dental care, in addition to the Social Security benefits, are bankrupting the hospitals, and soon the Social Security system will follow leaving those who pa
I think the tea party is very much against illegals here getting welfare checks just for having babies! They just are not advertising it! problem is there are so many here that haver had several children, they need to repeal the 14th ammendment, send the families bACK home, stop the welfare checks and they will self deport.
Dont let the SELL-OUT Republicans (Dick Armey) hijack the Tea Party. This isnt the Democrat or Republican party. The Sell-Outs had their chance but, you sold out!!!
Dick Armey is a fraud!!!!
Teabaggers are just republican lemmings. Republicans won't do anything about illegals because then they would have noone to manicure their lawns and wipe their pampered babies butts.
ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION AND THE INVASION OF AMERICA BY ILLEGALS BOTH BY BORDER JUMPING AND BY OVER STAYING VISAS IS THE NUMBER ONE CONCERN OF EVERY REAL AMERICAN AND IF THIS IS NOT A PRIORITY ON ANY TEA PARTY AGENDA THEN THEY WILL NEVER SURVIVE THIS IS THE NUMBER ONE ISSUE FOR ALL REAL AMERICANS EVERYWHERE AND THIS MUST BE THE NUMBER ONE ISSUE
Dick Armey is and has been part of the problem. He and McCain and those other a--holes!! Now he wants to hijack the movement?
Vopte all of them out! Republicans, Democrats, Socialists, and Independents and start fresh.
Some of these are a contradiction, you can't cut taxes and balance the budget and any fiscally responsible person would know that. That's like getting yourself out of debt by quitting your job.
Stop the Tax Hikes
Demand a Balanced Budget
Restore Fiscal Responsibility and Constitutionally Limited Government
i havent been able to post a comment to breitbart or any other so called conservative site because i criticize fox news. all these bastards like breitbart, michelle malkin hot air and whoever else are really fascists. my number one issue has and always will be illegal immigrants. millions of them recieve social security. it seems the tea party people are just an arm of fox news, led by the likes of sean vannity and glen beck. fox news is the problem.
I agree with Thor with one addition. Illegalize lobbying in any form.
I once had an illegal tell me that they were "taking over".
What is wrong with our government and how has it gotten to the point that they think they are a royal court and the American taxpayers are their peasants? If our government can't work for us like they were hired to do then they should be FIRED!!!
Members of the T.E.A. Party include all American Citizens. Citizens who support the consrv/repub, dem/lib and independent parties. Citizens who are standing-up against being "Taxed Enough Already" by obama's policies. Yes, illegal immigration is an issue, but not as personal as obama's policies have been. These policies take away the liberty and freedom this country was founded on which is more important than illegal immigration. If there is no America there will be no illegal immigration issue. First things first people. Forget about your personal agenda's. It's America the T.E.A. Party is fighting for.
and so the Republicans do to the tea parties the same thing they did to the reformers of the 90's. Investigate, infiltrate, then divide and conquer. Sure Armey, Cheney, and all the other Republicans will sign anything you want them to. Then when they don't need you toss you aside, laughing at you the voter all the way to the bank while they enjoy their fat cat, celebrity, $100 a plate dinner lifestyle.
Both parties do this.. the Democrats also did it to Nader and the Greens. So the same old same old.. about 15% in congress will get replaced with more Rs and Ds in 2010, Obama will get replaced with another R in 2012, and the congress go back to the D's in 2014. Meanwhile the republic continues to implode. When will people finally realize it's time to toss BOTH parties to the curb?
Savage is right. The Tea Party should purge, or at least ignore, all frauds.
Securing our borders and deporting all illegal aliens should be at the top of the list!
Dick is a has-been and failed to prove his worth. Our country is being invaded and no current politico is willing to do anything about it. Dems like the welfare vote of illegals and Repubs like the cheap labor (and wage suppression). Tea party should remain independant of any official party. Let the movement prosper as group that votes for whoever stands up for our country. I voted for McShame to help stop Obama from getting into office. From now on, I will vote for whoever believes in our country's survival. If my vote loses at least I know I voted for who is right and not for who had a better chance of winning.
The CPAC "Tea Party" (with the GOP, Dick Armey, Newt Gengrich, Sarah Palin, Rick Perry, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin et al.) is a fraudulent facsimile of the real grassroots liberty movement. True liberals and true conservatives - true patriots - must take it back!
Have candidates commit to term limits first. The incumbents running that win start as if it is their first term.
Rep., 3-terms on, 2 off before re-eligible to serve.
Sen., 2-terms on, 1 off before re-eligible to serve.
This will prevent the most radical in each party from a-massing seniority.
No congressman will owe people for 5,10, 20 election cycles of support.
The likelihood of returning to congress after the terms off will be unlikely as the subsequently elected may wish to serve their full eligibility.
Age could also be a factor, as a younger?, currently in-the-spotlight candidate could have an advantage, over those who wish to run, when eligible again, unless origionally elected at the minimum age to serve (unlikely). Include a lobbying ban of 2(+) years, to reduce the influence of those currently term-limited.
All the unlikelies add up to limit the number of persons that get elected when re-eligible. To prevent yo-yo-ing by 2 politicians to tie up a seat,
make pension benefits eligibility only for those having served their first maximum, and then subsequently elected again. If they want a pension, then get a job, pay social security, and/or pay into an IRA/401K, just like we do.
Remember there is no shortage of qualified citizens to serve in Congress. As we have seen, the jumbo 2000+ page bills are little more than cut-and-paste wish-lists, or advantageous-for-them tweaks to existing laws, provided by the special interest lobbyists, and their lawyers.
Being a congressman is a service, not a career. Let us insure this. Or we condemn ourselves to the Washington status quo.
Then let's get the 17th Amendment repealed.
Have candidates commit to term limits first. The incumbents running that win start as if it is their first term.

It looks to me like a very good citizens thing is being taken over and controlled by the republican party, looking for votes and still
not really giving a damned about the future of the children of American citizens. While I agree the tea party movement is the best thing that has happened in the United states for a very long
time, with many conservative and christian values and principals
I do not believe it belongs to the republican party and from the
the list I have just read I can see that I am right.
I'm sick to death of the likes of so-called "moderate" columnists support of Palin. David Brooks is a perfect example. He promoted McCain in 2008 because he knew he'd be easy to beat. He's doing the same thing with Palin. No more loser candidates!
the tea party movement has the potential to be the most important
grass roots constitutional movement of this new century. however if they allow themselves to be taken over by the same chamber of commerce rhino republican operative hacks who got this country in
this predicament in the first place , then the new tea party movement will end up in the dust bin of american history. stay the
course fight for our constitution and of course seal the borders
and deport illegal aliens.
All political appointments should be drug tested first.
They swear to uphold the constitution protect the citizen and borders but turn right around and mess with the 2nd amendment do not deport illegals do not seal the border but actually grant rights and entitlements to them.
Are they sold out or stoned?
Are you completely out of touch?
The Tea Party movement was NEVER about immigration, it has ALWAYS been about reducing the big government power, reducing SPENDING, and reducing TAXES...
STOP making this a race issue- stop making this about "immigration." Remember, until the government is fixed what will ever really be done to "fix" immigration?
fk dick army, mccain, palin, cheney, fox, etc.None of the aformentioned have anything to do with real conservatism.Half the items on the teaparty list are directly affected by legal and illegal immigration." healthcare reform",yeah when hospitals are going bankrupt because of illegals maybe something needs to be done, not a government takeover."Runaway government spending"even now the census is counting illegals for fed dollars."Give parents more choice in education"how about classrooms unindated with illegals children?I can go on,you get the point, somebody go on for me,thanks.
