Dobbs and O'Reilly stump for ID card and push for Immigration Reform

Lou Dobbs pushes for National ID Card and Immigration Reform

RINO Senator Lindsey Graham, R-SC running lead on comprehensive immigration reform along with his liberal friend Senator Chuck Schumer, D-NY, is calling for among other things a national ID card to stem the flow of illegal immigration with comprehensive immigration reform the final goal. They are not alone. On the O’Reilly Factor Tuesday evening, host Bill O’Reilly said he favored a National ID Card citing among other things the additional taxes that would be collected through reduced fraud and called it a “moneymaker for the US”. He said he wanted it “fast -tracked and done this year. On Illegal Immigration though he did not believe the Obama Administration had the political cojones (my words not his) to actually put forth a bill in the current environment, especially with Healthcare on the bubble.

Guest Lou Dobbs, formerly of CNN disagreed and said he was putting the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill on his calendar for six weeks out. A scary thought. Dobbs, a media firebrand credited with bringing Illegal Immigration to the forefront of the political debate “reluctantly agreed” with O’Reilly on the National ID Card. “For the same reasons I supported REAL ID, I support this.” He said. Privacy concerns are no doubt taking a back seat here.

O’Reilly has been Mr. Compromise throughout the debate on illegal immigration. In 2007 he said at one point that the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007, otherwise known as The Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act (talk about spin), was the best we were going to get. While I sincerely respect O’Reilly I would be reluctant to have him represent my interests in a negotiation. Amnesty for 12-20 million illegal immigrants wasn’t even close t o the best we could hope to obtain.

The real surprise was Dobbs. Considered by most to be an illegal immigration hardliner he used the “C” word (compromise) more than once saying it is time to get something done and in other words the fringe players on the right and left need to come to the table and play nice.

Really Lou? If I didn’t know better I’d swear that sounds like the words of a budding politician. Since when do you begin a negotiation in the middle? The strength of the argument presented by the hard left and right drive the debate one way or another. Those in the middle are there because as Sean Hannity says “they stand for nothing.” Don’t get me wrong. Hannity hasn’t done us any favors either on illegal immigration but when you’re right…you’re right.

So as talk show pundits and political prognosticators start ramping up for a coming show-down on illegal immigration, RINO’s on the right and Donkey’s on the left are lining up to kiss the Messiah’s ring. It is all a big show, a game if you will, where the American people are always the ones who lose. Truth be told, I've seen streetwalkers in Vegas with more class and better business sense than many members of congress...

You jerks should go back and hide in the public restrooms and write your racist comments like you used to.. Every level headed American is anxiously waiting for amnesty to be granted to these wonderful people from the world. Enough of your propaganda, is time to go back and disappear into the mountains. These immigrants that are hungry for work and don't complain about hard work will once again make America productive. You racist people feel like you are entitle to a lot of money and little work. That is why China is kicking our ass. You watch how America becomes productive once again when amnesty is granted. Reagan gave amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants back in the 80's and the we had great production. History will repeat once more.

I am actually surprised.. who would thought Lou would ever talk about a comprised.. That is definitely news...

Anyways it is never too late to change for the real interest of the American people. Positives and Negative points have been all revealed in the past CIR bills. So I all we can agree on is a comprehensive package that is just and humane and that most of all protect our borders. Others rhetoric that defines otherwise is just excuses to make the situation worse since it definitely isn't getting any better.

What is the argument here? every single alien "BROKE THE LAW!" Our Government, past & present, Republican & Democrat, have allowed the invasion of 20 to 30 million criminals and uneducated peons which is the largest invasion of any Nation, at any time, by any means & in direct violation of Article IV, Section IV of our Constitution.

This refusal to abide by our Constitution or enforce our Immigration Laws should be classified as Treason of the most foul kind, & as grounds for impeachment & trials for Treason!

Not only have they allowed the invasion, they force American tax payers to pay Billions on Billions of dollars to provide Welfare, Prison cells, Educate the invaders numerous children, and free medical care, at the same time the invading horde break numerous laws and massive document fraud, & are destroying our schools, hospitals, communities, culture and standard of living while Robbing, Raping, Killing & Assaulting American Citizens WAKE UP PEOPLE!

PATH TO CITIZENSHIP = Pay a fine, learn English, show you are paying taxes or that you will pay them respectively to those you have not yet paid, get a temporary permission to stay and contribute to the US, wait for backlogs in the broken system to be fixed...then can you really get in line and become a US Citizen years down the road (that's what's on H.R. 4321 and Schumer-Graham proposals)

US economy largely unaffected by illegal immigration

    Tucson, Arizona | Published: 12.03.2009

WASHINGTON — A study released Wednesday concludes that illegal-immigrant workers do not drain jobs or tax dollars and have a neutral impact on the U.S. economy.
Because illegal immigrants occupy a small share of the work force — about 5 percent — and work low-skilled jobs at lower wages than other workers, their overall influence on the economy is trivial, according to the report, sponsored by the Migration Policy Institute, a pro-immigration think tank in Washington.
"The fate of the U.S. economy does not rest on what we do on illegal immigration," said Gordon H. Hanson, author of the report and economics professor at the University of California-San Diego.
Illegal immigrants contribute a tiny 0.03 percent of the U.S. gross domestic product, with that gain going to employers who save money on cheap labor, the report says, while their cost to the economy is 0.10 percent of GDP, which m

I know there will be a lot clamor over an ID card. I like the idea of an enhanced SS card. At this point in our society today, we really have no privacy. If the government wants to go after you, they will. There is just so much information readily available on just about everyone, that to me the idea of worrying about a picture or thumb print on a SS card is a joke. If a SS card had your thumb print, picture and a magnetic code like a credit card, it would cut down on fraud a lot.
No system is perfect, but shouldn't SS cards be at least as secure as credit cards and driver's licenses?

I read the WSJ article and the usually suspect ACLU was clamoring about an invasion of privacy. If those nitwits in congress advance amnesty/CIR with the card enforcement part, you can almost guarantee that the ACLU will sue. The enforcement part will be rendered useless or stripped. An amnesty will be all that will remain.
If congress would enhance the SS card first there would be little need for

Hey Flip, we heard all of this in 1965 and again in 1986. Why would anyone believe that the government would enforce the laws requiring illegal aliens to pay a fine, back taxes, learning English and becoming citizens? Also why would any illegal paying little or no taxes, not having to learn English and not giving a damn about becoming a citizen want to do so?

There are still people being processed from the 1986 amnesty. If the government can't enforce current laws, process those already in the immigration system, how well would they do on another ill proposed bureaucratic nightmare? The so called impossible task of deporting all illegal aliens would be easier. Keep believing the globalist spin on how illegal aliens contribute so much. When you get in the same zipcode as reality let us know!

Of course it is easier to discount the breaking of our laws, and comparing people to Nazis then to provide reasoned argument. How do you suppose those people who just have so called misdemeanors are actually able to stay in this country? They violate a variety of other laws. They work for cash, use fake or stolen identities, drive without a license and auto insurance. Often if caught, and given a court date for a hearing, they run. When a person, regardless of where they are from have little regard for the rule of law, that behavior is evident in everything they do.

And if one thinks that this card will prevent illegals from working . . . how are they working now without legitimate papers? Remember, there is NO system that is hack-proof.

This is nothing less than a big power grab. Forget about "privacy" for a moment -- we have virtually none left in the modern world anyway. But that is no excuse to adopt THIS abomination. Doesn't anyone find the idea of a government-mandated fingerprint card a tad unsavory? Doesn't it seem out of charachter for America? Does this pass the Smell Test? Look at DHS’s record in carrying out previous congressional technology mandates of this sort: the "virtual" fence, the "no fly" list, the scanning of incoming freight, the system that allows Border Patrol stations to communicate with each other, access FBI databases and identify criminals, I could go on, but you get my drift.
