President Barack Obama threw in the towel on immigration, at least for this year, Aug. 11, citing the health care road block as consuming too much energy. The president told Mexican President Felipe Calderon immigration reform will have to wait until next year, according to the Mexican ambassador to the U.S. Arturo Sarukhán.
The message was not well received south of the border. One leftist newspaper called for renewed political and social pressure from the migrants themselves, in the U.S., and a firmer stance from the Mexican authorities.”
In addition, the Mexican Catholic Church criticized its government for not defending the rights of paisanos who live in the United States. Calderón should have pushed harder for reform in his meeting with Obama, the Archdiocese of Mexico regretted that the government does not carry out “strong actions” for the wellbeing of Mexicans in north of the border, according to La Jornada.
The church may want to stick to the Mass. The last time brown-skinned, religious fanatics got on the wrong side of a U.S. president, well let’s just say Obama is still sending missiles their way.
As for the paisanos, asking visitors to register and enter a neighboring country when space is available is legal. Rather than rendering unto the government, what is the governments, this church says to hell with your borders and to hell with your laws. That doesn’t sound much like a pal, does it?
If the Mexican church wants to criticize a government’s immigration policy, perhaps it should focus on Mexico City rather than Washington. Of course that government controls what the church can do and say. If Mexico wants open borders, it could always open its southern border.
Many of the moves are steps in a plan known as liberation theology. It teaches the poor ought to feel resentment toward the rich and to blame the rich for their poverty.
“Revolutionaries must concentrate on taking over social institutions, until all the transmitters of culture, such as schools, works of art and literature, media outlets and, most especially, churches, convey the belief that material progress, material wealth, and material comfort are the most meaningful elements of human life,” said Edward Lynch in Homiletic & Pastoral Review, February 1994.
What the movement leaves out is concerns for one’s soul, which is supposed to be the churches business.

End of Story !
America thrives as a melting pot. What's happened at the Mexican border is NOT the American Melting POT ! It's a giant frozen Turkey thrown into a slow cooked seasoned stew ! ENOUGH !

It is a relief, but vigilance is the watchword. I think also, that the issue of the illegal aliens in our medical care system is very serious. When you look at the health care costs Obama is trying to deal with, a huge chunk of that money is found in the activities of the illegal aliens in our emergency care.
Obama also called us demogogues because he did not agree with the resources we have used to identify the illegal aliens in our society. He has not.. NOT supplied any information from his data bases.. merely criticized ours. I would like to tell one and all that information developed by the Census has been deleted because it ran contrary to the effort to legalize. I do not doubt for a moment Obama has his own resources.. he should allow them public light and we can all work on a level playing field. Ahhh... unless Obama and the Democratic Party don't want a level playing field. Humm.
Amazing but not surprising that the corrupt elites south of the border refuse to reform and provide opportunities for their citizens. Instead they want middle class Americans to continue to bail them out. The answer remains: NO NO NO!! It's time for the ordinary Mexican people to fight for THEIR country rather than begging for another amnesty.
Immigration Reform- We heard this in 1986 (we've heard this tired line many times),we were lied to then and we're being lied to now. How many times has the U.S. given amnesty to illegal aliens? Seven since 1986. Each time amnesty is given, the flood of illegal immigration rises.
Total costs of legal and illegal migration, according to economist Edwin Rubenstein, shows American taxpayers shelling out $346 billion annually to educate, medicate and incarcerate criminal aliens and their children within the U.S.
Since January 20, 2009, Obama has failed to enforce immigration laws and failed to enforce Americas borders. Controlling immigration is not only the moral thing to do; it is mandated by our Constitution. Our government must constitutionally ensure the financial security of its citizens and protect our borders from invasion. The American People pay a very heavy price for this failure to enforce immigration laws.
We refuse, absolutely refuse, to be sold on another amnesty!
Obama plans on the "hispanics" to support him forever. Just like the blacks that have been taken for a 40 year ride on empty democrat promises, the same tack will be taken with hispanics. It will be the same "I'm with you" crap but nothing will be done. That way he can count on their support for at least 40 years, maybe more before they figure out they've been taken for a very long ride.

Does your mommy know that you're playing on her computer?
Little boys like you shouldn't be on message boards like this because you make yourself look very silly by posting your childish comments. You really should be watching cartoons or playing with your toys.
The catholic church needs to teach their priests to stop chasing after 10 yr old altar boys before it decided to meddle into anything. Stop it reverend! I am uncomfortable..hahahaha
Thanks, American Patriot. I couldn't have said it better myself.
I cannot understand how this administration, and several previous ones, cannot see that the millions of illegal aliens who are now in this country will destroy our economy and our way of life. In the nineteenth century and before, we needed people to populate and help build this great nation. They came from Europe and wanted to be Americans in the truest sense of the word. The worked to learn the customs and language. They weren't given handouts. When they came, the went through medical checks and if they were found to have a contagious disease, they were either sent back or quarantined until they were well. Many needed sponsors or relatives to take them in. They were the true immigrants. Today's illegal aliens are a far cry from the early immigrants. No, amnesty, legalilzation or citizenship! Send them home the same way they got here.
The sexual abuse of children by clergy members is certainly not just a Catholic problem. Indeed, sexual abuse is actually more of a problem in Protestant churches than it is in Catholic ones.

Moreover, a child is far more likely to be sexually abused by a public school employee than he or she is to be abused in any sort of church setting. I doubt, however, that bigots like Charlie On The Border raise the issue of sexual abuse whenever the public schools are mentioned.

Mr. Arnold, there is no such thing as "The Mexican Catholic Church." The Catholic Church is universal. That is, after all, what the word catholic means.
Secondly, if you are interested in learning what the Catholic bishops in the United States have to say on the subject of immigration reform, I would refer to you the web site of The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' (USCCB):

What follows is an article that does a great job of summing of the teachings of the Catholic Church on the subject of immigration:

On a final note, I would point out that liberation theology is certainly not embraced by many in the Catholic Church. It certainly is not embraced by The Holy Father. (Pope John Paul II wasn't a fan either.)
