A citizen’s action committee in Prince George’s County, MD, is looking for 2010 candidates and the impact of illegal aliens on our system is one of its issues. About 35 people were at a campaign planning meeting in Bowie July 9. Their goal is to sweep unresponsive Democrats from Annapolis and Upper Marlboro next year. People for Change (PFC) aims to field a slate of candidates in time for the Democratic primary.
Illegal aliens were mentioned in several of PFC’s other issues as well. For example, the group would like to see responsibility in the educational system, but “special programs,” such as English as a Second Language, are believed to rob the general curriculum, according to one speaker.
“We need a lobby group such as CASA [de Maryland, a taxpayer funded non-profit] to work for us,” council candidate Juanita Miller said. Children of illegal aliens become citizens. That is a problem because the children have a right to an education, but their parents do not “contribute to the tax base.”
“We are importing poverty,” said Bob Fireovid, leader of the county chapter of Help Save Maryland. “Ten to 20 percent of our students shouldn’t be [in Prince George’s schools].”
P.G. Republican Party Central Committee Chairman Mikhail Harris gave a brief report card on the county delegation. He reported neither Dels. Aisha Braveboy, James Hubbard nor Joseline Pena-Melnyk voted for drivers licenses for undocumented aliens, Harris said. The other 19 delegates did. All 22 delegates are democrats.

Prosecutor Joe Wright, a candidate for states attorney, warned MS 13 “is targeting middle school students. They have initiations at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays in homes where boys rape girls. They have no moral code.”
The gang presence is primarily in the north county and growing, he added.
The community talks about crime, but local officials are fighting federal programs to check prisoner’s legal status, Fireovid added. Both Prince George’s and Montgomery counties reject the federal 287(g) program, which allows local law enforcement to hold illegal immigrants suspected of crimes based on their legal status.

Well, Andy, I hope these people get their wish and get Democrats who stop kowtowing to illegal immigrants. Being a Democrat does not mean you should support illegal behavior. It's fine to be compassionate, but that doesn't mean stupid. Importing poor people, or ignoring immigration laws does not make a country better.
Look at the countries with the highest standards of living for all their citizens. Guess what? They don't have immigration laws, policies anything like ours. They do have policies that are strict and don't allow outsiders to gain citizenship easily. There's a reason for that.
I suggest we follow their lead.

There is no doubt that this illegal immigration has caused more problems than anyone could have ever imagined. Illegal aliens have made America the dumping ground for all their illegal alien children, then we have to school them and give them free medical care. I'm sick and tired of these illegal aliens snubbing their nose at our laws.
I believe it is time for all 50 States to pass a State law, like Arizona, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina and a few others. It is time for these ILLEGAL ALIENS to go back to their home Country and get out of this Country. The problems they are causing will not go away until the ILLEGAL ALIENS are out of this Country. I think that is plain to see.
It's time for ZERO TOLERENCE with these ILLEGAL ALIENS. It's time for them to get back to their own country where they belong.

The problem for at least the last 20 years is too many Elitist Politicians from both major Political Parties, have been willing to turn the United States into a welfare state to insure most of our citizens obtain Third World status by importing ILLEGALS for "cheap labor" to take United States Citizen’s jobs for their Political Contributors and Special Interest Groups or outsourcing United States Citizen’s jobs to Third World Countries. Too many U.S. Citizens are wrapped up into "winning one" for their political party and our nation's survival becomes secondary to PARTY Loyalty!
Signed up for a job training type of class at local college after my job shut down. Expensive and poorly taught. I had asked for a discount as low income, but was told there was none. Next to me in class was an illegal immigrant from Peru. He did not have to take the rinky dink, expensive prerequisites and he got to take the class for free.
Talked to a hispanic woman about taking classes at local colleges. When I said something about cost, she said she was not having to pay.
So, the big question is, what are all the special benefits they are getting while others pay full cost? Also getting freebies are those on the refugee/asylee programs. See "Refugee Resettlement Watch" website

If we grant amnesty and ultimately citizenship to the folks that are here instead of discouraging and helping reverse the flow of illegal aliens, then our government will have abdicated its responsibilities to its citizenry. Furthermore, it's about time that we woke up to the problems inherent to the presence of illegal aliens in our country. For the most part, we continue to do nothing more than import poverty from Latin America. As these folks arrive and move into our neighborhoods, many of our own low-income folks are forced out by gangs that are comprised of mostly illegals. The fact that there are 12 to 20 million illegals tells me that we must do something to fix the problem now or we will continue to be faced with this problem ad infnitum. If we don't grant amnesty, the message to the illegals should be very, very clear...go home! If amnesty is granted, the floodgates of Latin America will again be open as it was after the 1986 amnesty!
