Another couple inches of "global warming" have fallen on Arkansas, which in a good way, has slowed down the legislative session. SB183 was a fee increase on car titles. The Senate made an attempt early convene, vote for several bills, and then leave. The combination of weather and political pressure allowed SB183 to fail! The next session meeting isn't even until Monday, so no need to drive to the Capitol for a while!
Now, we must get several good bills through committees. HB1008, the Proof of Citizenship for In-State Tuition Bill, is still on the table of the House Committee on Education. You can look at the different committees and their members to get contact information by clicking the following link.

HB1292 An Act To Prohibit Illegal Aliens From Receiving Any State Benefit Except In Instances of Emergency Or When Life-Saving Measures Are Required, was recently filed. This bill will greatly reduce the number of illegal aliens in the State of Arkansas. However, it will be some time before this legislation is before a committee. For now, call your state representative and senator and ask them to be a cosponsor of this legislation.
HB1205 The Arkansas Water Accountability Act, was voted down in the House Committee on Public Health, Welfare and Labor, but can be amended and brought back up.
