TREASON - This word imports a betraying, treachery, or breach of allegiance.

The Constitution of the United States, Art. III, defines treason against the United States to consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid or comfort. This offense is punished with death. By the same article of the Constitution, no person shall be convicted of treason, unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court. (http://www.lectlaw.com/def2/t103.htm)

Adhering to their (America) enemies, giving them aid or comfort. Giving them aid. Would that aid include the ability to investigate any American citizen, keeping that investigation without access from those either being investigated or those seeking information about the investigation and allowing investigation by a foreign entity without oversight for Constitutional protection?

Doesn't allowing a foreign entity to have full reign against US citizens without regard to the protections of the US Constitution, fall within the Constitutional definition of treason? Isn't the punishment for treason include the death penalty? The framers of the Constitution took the threat of treason seriously enough to have harsh punishments.
According to an article on Threats Watch (http://www.threatswatch.org), being that the US is not a supporter of the UN Charter (Rome Statute) that allows the International Criminal Court (http://www.threatswatch.org/analysis/2009/12/wither-sovereignty/). Then why would a president allow the world's largest criminal investigation service to work unimpeded within the boundaries of our sovereign nation?
