Living in this great state provides hunters of all calibers ample opportunity to hunt year round. Granted, seeing a 100 pound feral hog is not the same adrenaline rush as seeing that 12 point with a drop tine in your cross hairs. However, some states totally shut down after deer season and those poor souls are left out in the cold until their 3 weeks of "hunting season" comes around again. In Texas it's just a "little" different.
Exotics hunts are available year round in Texas and many are more affordable and easier to find than you would think. Some outfitters are even negotiating prices in this down economy. Strike while the iron is hot. Get out there and have some fun before the 100 degree days get here. Check out some of these links for Exotic hunting here in out great state.

Exotics are just one of the off season hunting opportunities to look at. Predator and varmint hunts are a lot of fun and can be a great way to introduce a young person to hunting. Some of these hunts take place in the cool of the night with a much more relaxed atmosphere. Most predator hunts include coyote which are in abundance in Texas. Sitting down with a call box and shot gun then getting them in close for the shot will get your heart pumping, especially for the younger ones. Check out the sites below, there are many more out there.

You can't write about off season hunting in Texas without including Feral Hog hunts. Good reasons for these types of hunts are as numerous as the hogs themselves. Feral hog populations in Texas and surrounding states have exploded. If you hunt on land or own land where these animals live you know the kind of devastation they bring to a property. Most of these types of hunts are very inexpensive and action packed. You can also feel good about your contribution in helping rid our state of this nuisance and destructive animal. Hog hunts are another great way to introduce others to our sport, not a lot of pressure and plenty of action. The links below are a small sample of what's available.
