Iron Chef Michael Symon can be found in the crossroads of Tremont. At The Taste of Tremont on Sunday he was honored with his very own corner intersection. The corner of Literary Road and Professor has been aptly titled Michael Symon Corner by the city of Cleveland.
The presentation was made in front of Symon’s restaurant Lolita. Mayor Frank Jackson was on hand to witness the presentation.
The culinary pro graciously shook hands with the crowd.
Michael Symon owns two restaurants within the city. His first, Lola is located on 2058 East 4th Street, 216-621-5652. The second, Lolita (home of the new corner street sign) is located at 900 Literary Road, 216-771-5652.
The Cleveland native worked for years perfecting his culinary talents around the city at various restaurants before opening his own. Throughout his career he has been featured in several magazines, has received culinary awards and has made numerous television appearances. Some would say his biggest break came after winning The Next Iron Chef competition in 2007. Since then, some of his other Food Network credits include Dinner Impossible, Chopped, The Next Food Network Star, Iron Chef America and more.
