Dealerships are becoming more engaged in their learning opportunities thanks to a new Web 2.0 Learning Management System (LMS) that has been deployed.
The Chrysler Academy 2.0 Dealer Training LMS was developed by Chrysler Group LLC of Auburn Hills and Latitude Learning LLC of Ann Arbor.
According to the Brandon Hall Research Center, the new systems "leverages the power of Web 2.0 tools to create a robust learning management system that enables dealership staff to propel their customer service to the next level. "
In the LMS, dealers are able to share best practices using video, RSS, scorecards, blogs, and other Internet technologies that have become familiar to most computer users.
The LMS has become a learning portal that allows immediate publication of important data to the dealers.
"Chrysler has been able engage the dealership community as active learning participants, lower printing and delivery costs, reduce the time to deliver information and improve the customer experience," says Brandon Hall.
Latitude Learning says the program has many features to improve knowledge and increase performance at the enterprise level. These features include:
- Serve rich page content containing video, RSS, scorecards, blogs, etc.
- Allow authorized staff to easily post their own richly formatted content
- Serve content specifically targeted to individuals, roles, departments, etc.
- Increase enterprise performance by increasing user's social capital
- Integrate prescribed learning with informal learning
