The Howard Stern Show crew welcomed iconic rock and roller Stephen Stills to the Sirius XM studios on Tuesday morning. Stephen Stills talked to Howard Stern about music, cancer, kids and his newly released albums, and then treated the listening audience to some live guitar.
Howard Stern made no mention of the fact that Stephen Stills speaking voice was remarkably similar to that of Howard Stern Show Wack-Packer Jeff the Drunk. Stephen Stills admitted that he had gone to a rehabilitation center for alcohol abuse in the 80s, but said that he wasn't haunted by addiction demons like some of his contemporaries.
Howard Stern dug deep to uncover dirty little secrets from Stephen Stills' Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and Buffalo Springfield days. When Howard Stern asked Stephen Stills if Neil Young was "difficult to work with," Stills responded frankly:
"Being difficult is part of his personality."
Steven Stills also said that he considered himself the leader of Crosby, Stills and Nash for many years.
"How did you lose control?" asked Howard Stern Show co-host Robin Quivers.
"Crosby got sober," responded a deadpan Stills.
Stephen Stills then treated the listening audience to a groovy and gravelly rendition of The Allman Brothers' "Midnight Rider."
Stephen Stills' newest releases "Masassas Pieces" and "Live at Shepherd's Bush" are available in stores now.

I grew up on CSN&Y. I still dig out the Neil Young from time to time when I've had too much whiskey.
Just heard the replay - what happened???? He can still play the guitar amazing, but he sounded a bit rough, (they all do as they get older, the voice changes) but he sounded particularly horrible. He needs to stick to the low notes. Also, he sounded a bit of a a-hole. Lighten up man..
