Howard Stern Show regular Robert Schimmel is in "very serious" condition after a car accident on an Arizona freeway.
The comedian was a passenger in a car being driven by his 19-year-old daughter at the time of the accident. She reportedly swerved to avoid another accident and flipped the vehicle over and off the side of the road. Schimmel's daughter is current listed in stable condition. The comedian's 11-year-old son, who was also in the car, was uninjured.
The accident occurred on Thursday, but media outlets didn't break the story until TMZ got wind of it on Saturday. TMZ referenced Schimmel in their report as "best known for his work on the Howard Stern Show".
Robert Schimmel's most recent appearance on the Howard Stern Show came in January 2010 when he spoke about his divorce and his urgent need for a liver transplant. Schimmel has been suffering from severe health problems including cirrhosis of the liver.
