J.J. Abrams offers William Shatner private 'Star Trek' screening

William Shatner sent a public message to 'Star Trek' and 'LOST' creator J.J. Abrams during his  interview on Tuesday morning's Howard Stern Show. Shatner, who claims he hasn't seen J.J. Abrams' popular update of the 'Star Trek' film, said Abrams has offered to give him a private screening 'Star Trek' at Paramount Studios and that he's finally ready to take him up on the offer.

Howard Stern wondered if Shatner's avoidance of the J.J. Abrams 'Star Trek' might be due to sour grapes on Shatner's part. While 'Star Trek' franchise veteran Leonard Nimoy scored a meaty cameo on J.J. Abrams film update, William Shatner was left out of the project completely.

Howard Stern told Shatner that Abrams' 'Star Trek' is just too good to miss. "You've got to see this kid that plays you," Howard Stern told Shatner of actor Chris Pine's performance as Kirk. "He's brilliant."

"Get ready J.J. I'm going to take you up on the offer," said Shatner, finally bowing to Stern's browbeating

J.J. Abrams is an admitted fan and daily listener to Howard Stern Show broadcasts.

That does it: I'm gonna start refusing to see movies until I can get a private screening. Pretty good plan.

Kirk Prime should have been in this movie with Spock Prime. then they could have negated the terrible death of Kirk in Generations.

Im glad Shatner was out of that movie, however Nemoy made it a 'REAL' Star Trek movie.
