Howard Stern says he won't be taking over for Simon Cowell on American Idol.
During Wednesday morning's Howard Stern Show broadcast American Idol discussion, Stern played clips from multiple media outlets suggesting his name as a possible replacement for Simon Cowell when the token American Idol "mean guy" jumps ship to focus on his own show X-Factor after this season. Both clips of reporters from local news broadcasts featured female newscasters retching at the thought of Howard Stern joining the American Idol cast.
"He's too negative," said one broadcaster with irritation at the mere mention of the King of All Media's name.
Another female broadcaster said: "It's got to be someone we love to hate. Somebody said Howard Stern—no Howard Stern. He’s over the top. I'd turn off the television."
Howard Stern responded to the broadcasts by saying: "I'm so horrible? I don't know what I did. Women just despise me."
"You're worse than anybody," chimed in Howard Stern Show co-host Robin Quivers. "I bet they'd take Hitler over you."
Howard Stern says the prim and proper women of America have nothing to worry about. "Luckily for them, I'm not running for the job."
That probably means no American Idol contestant duets featuring Medicated Pete singing Purple Rain either.
