Howard Stern Show's Robin Quivers chokes on Celebrity Jeopardy
Howard Stern Show co-host Robin Quivers competed in the Million Dollar Jeopardy Celebrity Invitational which aired Thursday night. Robin Quivers, who has won Celebrity Jeopardy in the past, came in second this time. An ugly second. Robin Quivers, who's oft-taunted on the Howard Stern Show for being a 'know it all,' competed against actresses Jane Kaczmarek and Julie Bowen to raise money for her charity of choice, the Seed School of Maryland.
When it came time for the Alex Trebek interview portion of Celebrity Jeopardy, Trebek asked the Howard Stern Show news mistress:
"You've been with the howard stern show for a long time, as Johnny mentioned in the intro, and you are often described as 'the voice of reason, the voice of sanity, the counterbalance to his...strangeness' sometimes. Are you happy with that designation?"
"Well, it's better than being crazier or more off-balanced, don't you think?" replied Quivers with her signature giggle.
"Uh-huh. And it's kept you gainfully employed for a long time," replied Trebek.
This painful exchange was by far the least awkward moment of the night for Robin Quivers as co-competitors Julie Bowen and Jane Kaczmarek steamrolled the woman known as Howard Stern's on-air better half. Robin Quivers stood in a stunned silence for most of the first round and entered round two in third place. By the time Final Jeopardy rolled around, Robin Quivers was in an even more distant third place. Quivers placed second by betting everything but a dollar, while Bowen blew her entire wad.
The Final Jeopardy 'answer' was in the category of "Film Directors": "His work of the 1930s and 40s is so associated with sentimentality that his name is often combined with 'corn'."
There was no way Robin Quivers was pulling the name of Frank Capra out of their noggins--Julie Bowen either. But Quivers' response was definitely the most bizarre:
"Who is pon?"
Howard Stern Show fans will have to wait until the Howard Stern Show returns live on November 30th to find out what Robin was talking about. Quivers' deer-in-headlights performance should provide Howard Stern Show writers and cast with a hearty new reel of material with which to ridicule their queen.
Jane Kaczmarek advanced to the Invitational semi-finals and won $50,000 for her charity. Robin Quivers and Julie Bowen earned $25,000 each for their charities. The ultimate winner of the Tournament will earn $1,000,000 for the charity of their choice. Comedian Andy Richter and Michael McKean have already advanced to the finals.
"None of the ladies could pull the name of Frank Capra out of their noggins..."
That's not true, Jane Kaczmarek did answer the question correctly, even though it was a total guess.
Anyways, lucky for Robin, it aired on a Thursday, so she has a few days to relax before the onslaught of ridicule that is sure to come on Monday's show. I feel for her, but I can't wait to hear what happens. :)

It doesn't say "None of the ladies could pull the name of Frank Capra out of their noggins..."
