Howard Stern bashes suicidal jumper, praises Artie Lange

Howard Stern mentioned Artie Lange Wednesday morning while commenting on a headline-making suicide attempt in Manhattan.

Stern launched into a rant about Wednesday's New York Post story about Tom Magill, a man who attempted suicide by jumping from the 40th floor of a Manhattan apartment building Tuesday and survived the crash.

"Forty-three stories up," said Stern.  "He's gonna kill himself.  And you know how I f---ing hate these people who try to kill themselves jumping out of buildings.  Shame on them.  You want to kill yourself?  Fantastic. Go ahead.  Make my day.  There's too many g-----n people.  But don't try to kill yourself by jumping off a g-----n building where you could hit me on the street.  Especially here in Manhattan.  You know?  God bless Artie.  I mean, you know, he didn't try to hurt other people.  You know what I'm saying?  He did his thing--you know--it kills me that he did it--and it's horrible.  You know, he's the greatest guy in the world and I hope he's well but he didn't jump out of a--these people who try to kill themselves and take others with them are despicable...They don't think of anybody but themselves."

Stern has kept discussions on co-host Artie Lange to a minimum since Lange's violent suicide attempt in early January.  Lange reportedly stabbed himself nine times in an attempt to take his own life.

Some Howard Stern Show fans are still holding out hope that Artie Lange might return to the air some day, but at this point the future of the entire show is still uncertain.  Stern's contract with Sirius XM expires in January 2011 and as yet, no announcement has been made about Stern's future plans with the company.

If Sirius fails to keep Howard Stern, Mel Karmazin should probably resign from his position.

I will probably have Sirius cancel my subscription if they fail to keep Stern on board. (even though my year subscription will not be up) I'm willing to waste a bit of my money to let them know that they suck.

I listen to NOTHING else on Sirius but Stern. If I want to hear a song, I'll use an iPod. Seriously Sirius you don't even have MLB.
