Howard Stern attends 'Dinner for Schmucks' premiere but walks out on movie (red carpet photos)

Howard Stern and wife Beth Ostrosky Stern attended the 'Dinner for Schmucks' premiere in East Hampton, New York this week but the couple ducked out halfway through the film.

"It was good up until the point I saw. I had to leave," Stern told the Howard Stern Show audience.

Before the King of All Media made a beeline for the exit, the Sterns rubbed elbows with 'Dinner for Schmucks' stars Paul Rudd and Stephanie Szostak and director Jay Roach. Other stars in attendance included CBS News anchor Katie Couric, Saturday Night Live guru Lorne Michaels, Inside the Actor's Studio host James Lipton and both of  Billy Joel's ex-wives Christie Brinkley and Katie Lee.

The screening was hosted by the Cinema Society and held at a private residence in the ultra post resort town.  Everything was going fine in the world of the obscenely rich and famous until Howard Stern and his wife were seated next to a couple of popcorn crunching chatterboxes.

"They sit these two guys next to me who f---ing talk the entire g--damn movie.  And they gave out free popcorn so they were f---ing with the bag and the popcorn and I said to Beth, I can't take it.  I can't hear the g--damn movie...I got up I walked out.  That was it.  I couldn't take it anymore.  And of course I dragged Beth out."

Stern said his compulsion to bolt for the door didn't mean the film 'Dinner for Schmucks,' which bought ads on the Howard Stern Show. "I plan on seeing the second half," he said without urgency.

"I felt bad because Paul Rudd, the star of the movie, and the director [Jay Roach] are sittin' behind me and they probably think I'm a sh-- and just walked out on their movie but that was it--f--- it.  I was just done," said Stern.

Rudd and Roach shouldn't take it personally.  Howard Stern recently walked out on the premiere of 'Sex and the City 2' before the film even started.
