The Glenn Beck 'Restoring Honor' rally attendance numbers are reportedly significantly lower than expected.

CBS News is reporting that approximately 87,000 were in attendance at Washington D.C.'s Lincoln Memorial Saturday morning.

Glenn Beck predicted that at least 100,000 of his fans would travel from all over the nation to take part in his rally on the anniversary of Martin Luther King's 'I Have Dream Speech' at the same location.  FOX News spin doctors hoped to stoke more national outrage by predicting that the attendance numbers could reach as high as 500,000.

Beck, the syndicated conservative TV and radio pundit, was compared to Howard Stern earlier this summer for attacking traditional Christian values like social justice and social welfare.

Glenn Beck compared to Howard Stern by outraged Christian leaders

Glenn Beck was the subject of the Howard Stern Show's 'F, Marry, Kill' game when FOX News anchor Megyn Kelly visited the show earlier this summer.  Kelly opted to "kill" Beck in the game of hypothetical horrible choices.

The "estimated" 87K is an obvious ploy to discredit Beck but, it's too obvious! An estimate of 300K is far too low. The organization paid by CBS, a former news organization and current Obama promoter should have lied and "estimated" 200,000 attendees. Less than 100,000 is just laughable and once again far too obvious!!

"AirPhotosLive.com gave its estimate a margin of error of 9,000, meaning between 78,000 and 96,000 people attended the rally. The photos used to make the estimate were taken at noon Saturday, which is when the company estimated was the rally's high point."

    That's the facts, Jack.

When the Mall has held over 400,000+ attendants, they're usually packed in there like sardines.

Still I wouldn't be surprised if the number was between 100,000 - 200,000 folks attended.

But 300,000 - 400,000 is nutty. And all to see Glenn Beck and Palin??

    Just pathetic.

You are obviously missing the point. People did not come to see Glenn Beck; they came because of ideas of truth that he talks about. This is FAR bigger than just one man or one woman. It is an idea that have been around since the beginning of time, and it scares the hell out of those that hate truth.

it's so entertaining to read as you libs strain to claim that "only" 87000 showed for the rally. Have you ever been to a football stadium that seated 100,000+? All you have to do is compare that to the pictures of the mall. I don't care what Airohotoslive claims. It's easy to see that more than that were there, C'mon guys grow a pair, take it on the chin and simply admit that there were well over 100000 in attendance.

I was there and asked a group of officers how many people were in attendance. They replied about 350,000. Another said "At least that many." it was wonderful and inspiring. Stop the hate speech and the slander...we are ALL Americans! Today we stood in unity and embraced faith, hope & charity. We honored our soldiers, MLK Jr's most important message and especially our founding fathers. It was truly a great day filled with positive energy! Let's not turn it ugly. There was nothing involved with that rally that calls for anything but respect for one another and acceptance of our differences. God bless us all!!

...and FYI...if anyone knows history, we know the Mall previously has looked the same as yesterday and containe 250,000 or more. With the over-flow seen by reliable sources on surface streets, the number must be much higher. But who's to argue? The amount of people seems to only be an issue for liberals, constanty trying to skew the truth anyways. As an independent, I see the liberals scared as hell. These rally's will only grow in attendees the way America is shaping up. Obama must go, and his liberal cronies with him.

Majority-Americans (AKA tax payers) are sick of footing the bill for selfentitled idiots in this country that amount to nothing in contributions to society as a whole.

Who in the hell wants to go back to the principles of our founding father's. While they believed in a Christain society, they also believed that you could just go to Africa, rape and pillage it, and bring back all the slaves you want to build your society for you. Sounds like what I think Glenn Beck would think was a wonderful tiome in American history. Wait, for the white majority it was a wonderful time. I imagine that's why there were very few faces of color in the the crowd. And before someone mentions Dr. King's neice Alveda King, read the article that Martin Luther King III wrote about this event. The rest of the King family, including his children hold none of the beliefs of his kooky, mixed up neice.

  • ryankat 1 year ago

The rest of the King clan can't make money if they agree with white people! Look into the King Center in Atlanta. MLK's kids have made money off their father's name and they have been running the center with questionable activities and payments to them selves. If we judge them by the content of their character, as their father suggested, they would be failure sin his eyes. Alveda King spoke about faith and love and things that should matter to all humans, not just one race. Also, there seemed to be a predominately black crowd at Sharpton's rally but that is not about race? Look at the transcripts of the things that were said by various people at each rally and you tell me who spoke in a divisive manner today. It seems it is okay to sound hateful if you are black and liberal, but if you are white and conservative and speaking about God, your just down right hateful and racist. Liberals are the most hateful people I have ever met.

If you can refute Dr. Alveda King's words from Saturday afternoon, please do so. Otherwise, kindly stop your slander of her.

The founding fathers were admittedly at odds over slavery, but do a little homework on the Constitution. The abolitionist fathers pushed for the ability to phase out slavery in its design. Nobody wants to return to segregation or slavery. If you had actually watched the rally, you would know that it did nothing but honor Martin Luther King and his efforts, but you apparently cannot stand the idea that Glenn Beck agrees with Dr. ML King's views on civil rights.

I was there and it was inspiring to see so many people gather together for the cause of peace, unity compassion, and understanding. It was packed on both sides all the way to the back. An estimate of 200,00 to 300,000 would be accurate. He showed his love for his country, his family, and his hope that America will get back to the falues that made our Country great. Values meaning, family, church, (God), self respect / honor. I was pleased to see that Dr. Martin Luther King was a big part of the day. His march for peace was not only for black people, but it was for all people. I think the black community has to understand that that day was not only for them, but for all of us. So I take offense when they make it to be "their" day. As for the scares of our country, we do have many, and it is not only towards the black community, it is for many communities that have had to suffer many throughout the years. I agree with the speakers of Saturday's event. We must learn from our mistakes and we must move forward to make our County great. We cannot keep bringing up the past because we will never move forward if we don't. That doesn't mean to forget it, but to move forward with the knowledge to improve our Country and our world. So please people, show some respect and stop the hate. Lets all make our Country great again. God Bless America.

It amazes me that anyone with a brain cell would say there were less than 300,000 people there – it just kills the left that “We The People” have decided to stop being bullied around by big government, which is exactly why our ancestors risked everything to come to America and fight for their freedom and against an oppressive government. We are also tired of “God” being a bad word. Say what you want but all those in attendance came for one reason and it wasn’t for Glenn Beck!!! We came to make a statement that we believe in God and in our Constitution and we stand together ready to fight to protect our rights!!! The days of us sitting by and doing nothing are over so get ready here we come!
