Artie Lange announced on Tuesday morning’s edition of The Howard Stern Show that he is in negotiations to star in a new reality show called Saving Artie Lange. The controversial comedian who recently dominated Google Trends for almost a full week after his ‘Joe Buck Live’ appearance, announced that a pilot episode of Saving Artie Lange has already been shot.
Saving Artie Lange will follow The Howard Stern Show’s most tormented clown on his whirlwind stand-up comedy and book signing tours around the country. Despite the show’s title, Saving Artie Lange does not seem to be focused on chronicling Artie Lange’s newfound dedication to psychotherapy and sobriety.
In May, Artie Lange admitted that he had been offered $250,000 by the producers of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky to appear on their next season. He declined the offer, and set off on his own personally designed drug rehabilitation regimen which included the hiring off two off-duty police officers to physically restrain him from using drugs if necessary.
Although he wouldn’t reveal just how much, Artie Lange said that signing on for Saving Artie Lange would provide him with “enough money to take time off.” In addition to Artie Lange’s struggles with drug, alcohol, gambling and food addictions, he is a chronic workaholic. Lange states that because he grew up without a lot of money, he finds it very difficult to say “no” to work.

These producers are so evil. I bet they have a clause that Artie has to imbibe whatever they give him. They are going to surround him with bad people and bad influences. He would be better of with Dr. Drew if he really wants to be exploited for more cash.
As a long time Stern fan, I have to admit Artie has worn out his welcome in my opinion. His ego has now blown up to the point where Stern is the only person on the planet that he accepts any criticism otherwise he is his normal defensive self righteous a-hole. There are days when he is good then other days I cant stand him. His book really opened my eyes to what a little cry baby he is. He has the world at his feet and he has no clue. He says he knows he would be making 50$ a night if he was not on Stern yet he is so ignorant of how worn out his act is. His stand up is "ok" but not a list. He needs to quit and become a side note in the stern show like Jackie did so we can all be saved. The appearance on boring Bucks show was uncomfortable at best. I still do not understand how anyone found it remotely funny other than a train wreck.
