Artie Lange named 'breakthough' performer of 2009 (video)
Artie Lange's performance on HBO's
Joe Buck Live this summer has been named a "breakthrough" performance by
USA Today sports television writer Michael Hiesland.
Hiesland said of Artie Lange's controversial appearance: "Including Howard Stern sidekick Artie Lange on the debut of Joe Buck's HBO show produced cringe-worthy TV. But it also set some kind of TV speed record for attracting rubberneckers. Imagine if Lange had also been pantless."
Artie Lange was temporarily banned from HBO Sports for life after unleashing a series of f-bombs on the Joe Buck Live premiere and then mocking the show's host for his lack of comedic instincts. Artie Lange's Joe Buck Live appearance was one of the most searched for videos on the internet. As Hiesland pointed out, though, Artie Lange put an otherwise lifeless show on the television map.
Artie Lange was absent from the Howard Stern Show for the last week before holiday break and speculations have run rampant on whether Artie Lange will return to the show at all in the new year.

It's so unfortunate that "The Examiner" comes out on top of Google news search as often as it does, considering it's just a collection of opinionated blogs about the news. Google should preform one of it's infamous web site blocks to stop this from happening.
