The 82nd Annual Academy Awards started off with How I Met Your Mothers own NPH singing and dancing like only he can. The opening act was not announced and was a great start to the evening. NPH gained critical acclaim for his hob hosting last year's Tony Awards. His performance there gave him the chance to host the Emmys this past fall.
Rumors were circulating online that Harris was going to perform a number with comedian/actor Martin Short. On NPH's Twitter account he did make it clear last week that he was not performing a duet. He never actually denied that he would be part of the Oscars either.
The performance included a chorus line of dancers and NPH wearing a tuxedo. Harris mentioned many of the nominees, the fact there were two co-host, and that he was not asked to be one of them.
