Another Happy Thanksgiving at the Eriksen house.
It has been two long years, but finally the day has arrived. Barney gets another slap right in the face.
For those new to the show in season 2 Marshall and Barney made a slap bet and thourgh a series of events Marshall was given the right to slap Barney 5 times at any point in the future.
At this point in the story Marshall has already given Barney three slaps. Because of a good deed that Robin and Ted have done for him, he decides to give his 4th slap to them; the only rule being they must decide who will give the slap before sundown.

In HIMYM tradtion the slap bet was not the main plot of the show. Lily's father, played by Chris Elliott, has returned into her life. He has been a constant disappointment her entire life, obsessing over creating horrible board games rather then pay attention to his daughter. We learn that Lily has a "you are dead to me" look and she used it on her father 3 years earlier.
Overall the hype surrounding the return of the slap bet did not really work. While it was good to finally see Barney in an episode that did not surrounding dating, much of the humor around the slap has already been done. The dynamic of Robin and Ted arguring over who would slap Barney was funny but was not enough to hold the entire show together.
The best aspects of the show was Chris Elliott as a fresh of breathe air (he has always been a great comedic character actor) and Marshall having a lot of screen time to show his range as a character.
Not the best one of the new season, but still worth checking out.

At my house I usually get slapped by my dad or my mom every year (to much eggnog) so I could actually relate to this one!

I want to slap Ted and Robin, they were really annoying.
However you must admit that when Ted tried to use I am still in love with you Robin moment it was funny as hell! It was a pretty good episode, nothing like last week though I agree... the scuba diver.. priceless!
I want to b=tch slap Zack's wack @$$....the episode was solid....I used to sell Crystal Meth to Chris Elliot back when he was on Get a Life...what about the Slap Bet Board Game?!? Get your review game up!
Rali the Slap game at the end was pretty good. I wish it was real so I could slap you. And I would do all 5 of mine in one night!
