Texans - Bucs game notes: 1st quarter

Random thoughts and observations as I watch the Texans and Buccaneers preseason finale:

  • Matt Schaub didn't make the trip.  He's back in Houston receiving treatment on his sprained ankle according to the TV crew.
  • Anthony Hill didn't endear himself to the coaching staff with his fumble on the Texans second play - speaking of which - it seems that fewer teams are respecting the QB bootleg as Orlovsky had two guys in his face on that play.
  • Nice pick by Brice McCain on the Bucs subsequent drive.  He continues to impress.  Just hang on to the ball if you decide to take it back.
  • Dom Barber didn't earn any points either when he got turned around on an 18 yard pass from Josh Freeman to Brian Clark.
  • Ryan Moats nice run for a first down on the Texans second drive.
  • Anthony Hill is not having a good start to this game.  Orlovsky hit him in stride but he couldn't hang on when Will Allen delivered the blow
  • Looks like the starting offensive tackles are Rashad Butler and Adam Stenavich.  I'm surprised the Texans came out so pass happy in this game.  I spotted Chris Myers at center.
  • Fred Bennett and Brice McCain are showing up at corner.  Kevin Bentley has been very active early in this game.
  • Antwaun Molden is also showing up in coverage.
  • Jacoby is looking very confident on his punt receptions.  He and Orlovsky hooked up on a nice slant for 18 before throwing yet another interception.  Orlovsky has this bad habit of throwing bazookas into traffic and getting tip drills coming back the other way.  I'm sure this is driving Kubiak nuts.
  • Texans have three turnovers in the first quarter and trail only 3-0.  Forgettable first quarter for the offense.
