Matt Miller joined the Examiner after covering athletics for student newspapers at San Jacinto College (San Jacinto Times) and the University of Houston (The Daily Cougar) for four years. He published nearly 150 articles during this period.
Miller is close to graduating from UH with a BA in journalism. He is still The Daily Cougar's Web editor and previously served as the Cougar's editor in chief and sports editor.
