Graves Hospitality Corp. opened the 64-room Hotel Williamsburg last week, bringing to the trendy neighborhood its first full-service luxury boutique hotel. Featuring a variety of locally sourced amenities (including a Brooklyn Brewery signature brew), an outdoor pool, a full-service restaurant and a rooftop lounge with Manhattan views, Hotel Williamsburg is located off Bedford Avenue, one stop away from the East Village.
The hotel's rooms and suites are divided between front rooms facing Manhattan and rear rooms with tranquil views over the swim club. Designed by Studio GAIA, all feature large picture windows, elegant furnishings such as leather-clad modern lounges with matching ottomans, translucent windows into the bathrooms, Italian linens and toiletries from New York’s Malin + Goetz.
The lobby bar, featuring a waterfall underfoot, overlooks the dining room of Pillar & Plough, the upscale restaurant with its own cocktail lounge, banquettes, and a chef’s table adjacent to the open kitchen. The menu and all of the food in the hotel will be created by acclaimed local chef, Andrés Julian Grundy, formerly of David Bouley’s renowned Bouley and Boston’s Clio.
Perhaps most noteworthy for those who like to see and be seen are Hotel Williamsburg's outdoor spaces, including the poolside club with a 40-foot-by-20-foot heated swimming pool and cabanas and the Watering Tower rooftop lounge. Expect summer days and nights to be sizzling at this latest Williamsburg hot spot.
