IMAX Filmed Entertainment has announced that it will be releasing the third installment in The Twilight Saga, Eclipse, in its specialty venues in conjunction with the regular Summit Entertainment release of the film on June 30, 2010.
The film, directed by David Slade and starring Kristen Stewart, Rob Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, will be digitally remastered with image and sound quality unique to the IMAX experience. The sharpness and clarity of the images, coupled with the IMAX's geometrical shaped theaters, will provide a one-of-a-kind environment for people of all ages to enjoy the latest release in what has become one of the biggest franchises of all-time.
Based on the books by Stephenie Meyer, the first two films in the saga, Twilight and New Moon, have already grossed more than $800 million worldwide, with New Moon dethroning The Dark Knight as the record holder for opening day box office sales.
"Twilight moviegoers will have a whole new way to experience this next installment of the series, with the enhanced image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience putting them IN the movie," said Richie Fay, Summit Entertainment's President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution. "The IMAX release puts us on the event film calendar for 2010, and we're very excited to work with IMAX to bring a new kind of film to the IMAX theater network."

Interesting. I've never seen a "real" movie at an IMAX, just the Air Force movies and space stuff.
I'm in the minority of horror fans who doesn't hate Stephenie Meyer. I kind of understand the ill feelings based on the movies (the books are way better).
