Final update before the Zombie Walk commences!

Tomorrow is the big day!  The Second Annual SLC Zombie Walk commences tomorrow evening.  I was able to catch up with the event’s organizer Sarvas Berry yesterday afternoon to get some of the details about the event.

One interesting thing is the fact that Sarvas is actually living in Chicago these days.  He was living in Salt Lake City Last year when he originally decided that a Zombie Walk is just what SLC needs.  He has since moved, but he had such a great time putting it together last year that he has decided to do so again… albeit from a different time zone.  When I asked him what his motivation was for putting all of this together, he explained that, first and foremost, it’s simply just very fun.  He also talked a little bit about how, even though he feels like the horror community may be growing in Utah, it still may lack the motivation, experience or desire to put something like this together.  However, Sarvas feels that with the visibility of events like this, the community may start to grow more rapidly.

Just to go over the details one more time, the Zombie Walk will begin at around 7:30 pm (make sure to arrive as early as 7:00 pm so that the walk can begin promptly at 7:30 pm with as many zombies as possible leaving at the same time).  The starting point will be Mt.OlivetCemetery, which is located at 1342 east 500 south.  The route will follow 500 south, all the way to 700 east (

Trolley Square
).  This route was chosen to hopefully gain some attention from the residents or any other people that may be in the area.  Make sure to take a look at the map and visit the official MySpace page for this event.

See you there!

no offense, but we need to move beyond just Sarvas organizing zombie events.

we need a community organizing events.
