October is supposed to be a mid-west delight filled with days ranging from sunny and warm to a bit of a chill. But, October in St. Louis this year has been unseasonably cold and wet. Otherwise, trips to the pumpkin patch, zoo and jumps in leaf piles are squealched on these rainy days. But, don't let the weather dampen your chance to nuzzle down inside all day and homeschool. Here's some fun learning ideas to brighten up your dreary, rainy day:
Snuggle up with your kids and read a good book.
Pop some popcorn and watch Veggie Tales In Search Of Noah's Umbrella - Appropriate for today!
Teach cooking skills and make some chili, home-made soup or grilled cheese. Or, make a fire in the fireplace & have a living room cook-out making S'mores.
Or - Make your own little sunshine to enjoy indoors:
Rain Coloring Sheet - Letter R
Homeschool Helper Rain Coloring Sheet - Girl With Umbrella & Duck
Rain, Ice Steam - Using Reading
Online rain stories for the younger kids
Make a Sunshine puppet or Cloud
