Veteran's Day comes around every year on November 11. Perhaps we have become so accustomed to this November holiday that we no longer stop to think what it represents. It is a day to honor and remember our Veterans.
What is a Veteran? A Veteran is a soldier who has served his or her country in the armed forces, Army, Air Force, Navy or Marines. Veterans fight to defend our freedoms.
This Veteran's Day is a perfect opportunity for us to impart to our children lessons on why Veteran's are honored every November 11. And, if you are a Veteran or active military, enjoy a free meal on Veteran's Day at St. Louis area Applebees.

If you want to take part in a ceremony that honors our Veterans, on Wednesday, November 11 at 11:00 a.m., O'Fallon will host a Veteran's Day ceremony at Veteran's Memorial Walk.
Then, at 7:00 p.m., at Emmanual Episcopal Church in St. Louis, there will be an interfaith prayer service in honor of Veteran's Day.
The St. Louis downtown Veteran's Day parade and Jefferson Barracks ceremony already took place this past weekend. But, if you want to travel from St. Louis to take part in Veteran's Day celebrations, here's some suggestions from Branson and beyond.
