Two years ago, the Learning Freely website profiled the Impas-Lewis family in an article about homeschooling in Seattle.
The site's tagline says "Trust the children, and allow them the freedom to choose." The purpose of the site is "As well as supporting each other on this path of living and learning, this website is to help spread the awareness of, and tools to implement, Natural Learning/Living environments worldwide. Such an endeavor requires communication and information from many parts of the world. The most likely people to help this vision manifest in reality are those who are implementing such learning environments in their part of the world. By sharing such information, people from anywhere in the world may benefit from such information and may be able to apply part of that information to their particular circumstances."
Now 7 and 4, Stacy and Rom's children are still unschooling and likely still involved with community resources. Her blog, Mama Om is an inspiring glimpse into a peaceful home where unschooling, mindfulness and peaceful parenting are the keys to happiness. Her photography is absolutely beautiful. She shares stories about her children's projects and interests as well as her personal growth.
