On Saturday, May 1, 2010, Naomi Leitch, a homeschooled student, graduated from the University of West Florida (UWF), at the age of 18. By the age of 13, she was taking dual enrollment courses at Pensacola Junior College and UWF.
She described the first UWF class as "complete culture shock," but by the time she graduated, she felt at home and through hard work earned her place in the class of 2010, totaling 1,364 students.
Leitch will begin working on her master's degree this summer and paid her way through college with savings and a small scholarship. She stated, "I'm still young, but I know exactly what I want to do with my life." She is working toward a career in international relations.
Certainly, she is an exceptional young lady; this is an inspirational, motivational homeschooling story.
