There are lots of great opportunities for homeschool families coming up in January in Minnesota.  Here's a sampling of events, classes and activities around southern Minnesota.

In Mankato, bowling will be starting soon.  League bowl includes 2 games of bowling each week, bowling Instruction and shoe rental for a total cost of $16 per student or parent.  The league meets on Tuesdays and the dates are January 12,19,and 26th and February 2nd, from 1:00- 2:30.  (email me for contact info)

In Lake Crystal, homeschool swimming will be Thursday, January 7th from 1:00 to 2.:30 p.m at the LCARC.  The cost is $2.25 per swimmer (waterslide included).  Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult in the water.

In St. Peter, there is an open gym time every Thursday (except the first Thursday, so there is no conflict with swim time) 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the St. Peter Community Center.  No RSVPs are necessary.

In Windom, homeschool ice skating will resume at the Windom arena.  Skating will be from 1-3 on Thursdays except for holidays.  Family Passes for the season are $50.  Families get free rentals during Homeschool Skate with this pass.  Daily Fees (without pass) are admission $2.50, skate rental $2.00.  Skating generally goes through early March. (email me for contact info)

In the Twin Cities area:

---Classes are starting at the Science Museum, the Rum River Art Center, the Children's Theatre, Circus Xelias, the Art Academy, and Silverwood Park.

---There are lots of nature center classes (Wargo, Como, Lowry, Tamarack, Dodge, etc).

---Stages Theater's homeschool day is at the end of January. The Works has their monthly homeschool
day, and there's the monthly science program at Westcott Library. Several ski resorts are also offering discounts on their homeschool days. Plus, there's a class at Ingebretsen's on Nordic Mythology.

This is just a small sample of activities for homeschool families in Southern Minnesota.  If you have homeschool related classes, events or opportunities you'd like me to post, email me and I'll be happy to post announcements.
