On January 15th homeschool students can watch the eagles soar at Pinnacle Mountain State Park in Little Rock, Arkansas. Bald eagles make Arkansas their winter home and Lake Maumelle is the perfect place to view them.
The homeschool day consists of a tour of Lake Maumelle with Park Interpreter Susan. Homeschoolers will learn about how the bald eagles live, why they winter over in Arkansas and what people can do to help the eagles.
The weather looks as if it should be a gorgeous day for a tour of the lake. Bring a camera, binoculars, and a sketchbook to allow students to see the eagles up close and to record their findings. Bottled water and a snack are two other items to include on the trip.
