Using Puppets can be both fun and educational. How? Here are several examples of how puppets can be used to promote literacy:
- Your beginning reader can read books to a puppet.
- Your children can retell books by writing a script and using puppets
- You can make a read aloud more engaging with a puppet.
- Your children can teach the puppet.
- You can research another culture with puppets.

Our church used to have an entire Puppet Ministry.. was really fun for the kids.
This is a lot of fun!
that looks like fun!
What a fun way to make books come alive.
I think my kid would think I'm crazy if I asked him to read to the puppet...
My son wouldn't go for the reading to the puppet...but my DOG would go wild for one of these puppets! But then again...she might become resentful that she has lived all her life playing with *sniff* ordinary PLAIN socks!! :)
I loved making puppet theaters as a child. Then used Mexican marionettes...fun times.
