Face Academy
When my kids first started attending FACE I was so impressed by how much they learned in their classes and how much they enjoyed a "school" atmosphere. For many home schoolers attending school causes parents to shutter at the thought of what type of influence other children might have on their own kids. Family Academy of Christian Education took away all of those concerns for me. First off, all the kids that attend FACE are from families that home-school. Secondly, the courses that my high schoolers wanted to take, enabled me to spend more time on the subjects that I loved to teach. In many ways having my kids enrolled at FACE, helped me be a better teacher. So if you are wondering what FACE is all about, let me introduce you to Cindy Naylor, the founder of Family Academy of Christian Education.
Thanks so much Cindy, for taking the time to share with us about FACE. When was FACE founded?
It was founded in 1996.
Why was FACE founded?
I finally decided to look at home schooling when my oldest child started public Junior High. I was in SHOCK at what was going on there.Girl fights, for one thing, were a common occurrence. When I looked for support, I found the groups/schools to be either too expensive or too judgmental; like a country club for perfect people and their perfect children.
How does FACE serve home-school families?
The first year we had 40 families and a few classes. Now we have between 50-60 classes offered each Tuesday and have served hundreds of families.
What subjects are taught at FACE?
FACE is considered a private school option for home schoolers. We are a Christian school but welcome all families to come as they are.We offer classes, field trips, plays, parties, spelling bees, Speech/Debate, special speakers, testing, evaluations, curriculum, graduation ceremony with official transcripts for grads and life-long friendships for the children and their parents.
What are the requirements to join FACE?
There is a lot of flexibility for families to choose the best method of learning for their children. We want families to be in charge of their children's education. We offer support and benefits to help them reach their goals.
When is the open house?
The Open House is Sat. July 18 from 9-11 at Northglenn Christian Church. It's a great time to see what is offered, meet teachers and staff and other home schooling families.

Sounds like a great resource for home schoolers.
I wish we had resources like this "back in the day" when we were homeschooling.
