I find this question so funny, anytime I tell someone that I am homeschooling they ask “But what about algebra?” For me, now that I have a junior, this is a annoying question but I do understand their point. They want to know how you can teach something you do not know or understand.
There are several options for algebra, and other harder subjects. Things like cds, dvds, and even direct streaming programs. These programs help your child learn harder subjects at home without any limitations.
Here are a few..
Teaching Textbooks
This is our favorite for math. Each set comes with student book, answer key, cds and answer cds. Each lesson is taught on the computer just like watching a blackboard. The great thing is you can go over the problem as many times as you need to.

Alpha Omega
AO has a CD program called SOS (Switched on Schoolhouse). These CD allow you to do your work on the computer or print it out. It is very similar to having books on the computer. You also have games, a great teachers program and more.

BJU
Bob Jones has been a leader in the digital learning and continues to be so. They have several different options; DVD, online and through hard drive.

With all these options there is no reason why you can not teach algebra or even calculus at home.
