James Madison once said "I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power, than by violent and sudden usurpations..."
How prescient was he to know that in a mere 200 plus years a Democrat president would come into power, coupled with a Congress controlled by the same party, who would basically assume the position that zero limitations existed as to the extent of the governments reach?
That an assumption would be made that rather than having limited government, we would instead go the route of unlimited government, who will be there to serve an electorate deemed to ignorant to decide things for themselves. That the politicians would, regardless of the wishes of the majority of the population, determine what was in the peoples best interests for them.
Who then will teach our children the true meaning of what the founders had in mind when they crafted the Constitution? Let's let Andrew Klavan have a try.
