Having a home party is one of the best ways to generate a larger income with your direct selling home business. When someone can come and see the product displayed and "in action" they will be more likely to purchase from you. Friends and family will enjoy coming together and having a good time as well.
Getting Started
To have a home party, first decide if you're going to host it or find another person. With this decided, you should have a place for the party to be at and someone to be in charge. You will need to set a date and determine how many people you want to invite. Send out business cards, invites, make some phone calls to confirm people are coming.
Preparing for your Party
Before the party starts, create some games and door prizes. Many companies offer incentives when you throw a party such as discounts or free shipping. Have a table with a neat and attractive display. Get a order form/ receit book for when people want to order from you. If you want refreshments, make sure they are bought or prepared ahead of time. If desired, prepare a goodie bag for guests to take home. This could include a small catalog or business card and product sample.
Having the Party
When a good number of people have arrived, have your host welcome everyone and turn the time over to you. Introduce the company and talk about each product- either pass them around or allow people to come up and look at them. If you sell candles, have one burning. If it's books, read or show them the pictures- and so on.
At the end of the party, leave time for any questions and comments. Give out the goodie bags (if you have them) as people leave. Also, have some information for people that may want to start their own direct-selling business. You may just find some great referrals.
Success
There you have it- a successful home party! You may find that some things went just great while other things you will make a note to do differently next time. Your first party is really a learning phase. All in all, hopefully everyone had fun and you made some extra income as well.
