MTV Networks has negotiated a deal with Sony Pictures for the TV rights to the Michael Jackson documentary This Is It.
The six-year contract allows MTV and its sister music channels, VH1 and VH1 Classic, full usgae of the Michael Jackson film. According to industry magazine "Variety", The music network contract begins in 2011.
This Is It has raked in $223 million since its worldwide box office release on October 28. The docu-drama features the final rehearsals and back story of Michael Jackson's London tour preparation shortly before his death in June 2009.
