DIY NETWORK'S NEW SERIES RUN MY RENOVATION

From the creators of Blog Cabin, television’s only interactive homebuilding show, DIY Network announces the nation’s first interactive home renovation television series, Run My Renovation.  Starting Thursday, Aug. 20, homeowners will be at the mercy of America and give complete control to millions of strangers to decide the final outcome of their home renovation. Viewers will vote on a variety of design elements – flooring to fixtures, cabinets to cook tops, moldings to mantelpieces, and more – for the homeowner’s room of choice by logging on to DIYNetwork.com. Once the votes are cast, Run My Renovation will incorporate America’s home improvement choices and document the drastic transformations in a 13-episode series premiering on DIY Network in mid-2010.

Run My Renovation takes interactive television to the next level by allowing viewers to become backseat contractors,” said Andy Singer, DIY Network’s head of programming. “We’re looking forward to having America decide what goes into total strangers' renovations."

DIY Network’s Run My Renovation is a complete 360-experience packed with interactive elements on DIYNetwork.com to determine the outcome of the television show. Beginning Thursday, Aug. 20 – the same day as the third season premiere of DIY Network’s Blog Cabin – the online components include: ongoing two-week features on a new room, video pleas from each family and a photo gallery of the rooms in desperate need of an overhaul.  It’s up to America to take carpeted bathrooms and yellow countertops to elegant and modern, and turn outdated and boring spaces into chic and relaxing retreats.
