Find out how your 'name' influences your life!

Can the name you give your baby influence its life? Recently on New York City's, Today Show on MNBC.com an article about The top 10 'bad boy' baby names mentioned:

“Social Science Quarterly, Shippensburg University professor, David Kalist says giving newborn males oddball, girly or strange first names may just help land them in jail."

The names mentioned were: Ernest, Garland, Ivan, Kareem, Luke, Malcolm, Preston, Tyrell and Walter.

Let’s take a look at what the ancient philosophers say about the power of one’s name and find a name analyzer on the Internet to find out what destiny our names hold for us and a baby name wizard to help us choose our baby boy's or girl's name wisely.

Traces of the study of Numerology exist in all ancient civilizations, from the Chaldeans to the Hebrews, and were made popular by the Greek philosopher, Pythagoras, who believed that everything in life can be expressed numerically. Pythagoras, as well as other ancients, believed that language could be translated into numerical values in order to decipher the “code” of Creation and understand our place in the universe and maybe even reach an understanding of the “Source of All.”

As everything is vibration, from the words that come out of our mouths to the hum of electrons and quarks; our names create a “template of frequency” and this may affect our lives. Like a stone thrown into a pond, our names reverberate and affect us and those around us.

Our own names and the names we give our children are subsequently quite important. Even on a mundane level, the sound of our names, whether creating a pleasant or unpleasant sound, affects us and our brain chemistry; just as music influences the growth of plants or our mood.

One way to find out the “vibrational frequency” of a name is to change the letters of the name into numbers and then interpret the numerical value.

Almost all belief and religious systems have entire branches of study that examine the numerical value of words, even plotting out a person’s possible intent in life, the soul’s urges and desires.

Judiasm has the practice of gematria that assigns mystical meaning to words based on their numerical value and on connections between words of equal value. Mathematician and physicist, Paul Dirac had his large numbers hypothesis (LNH) and finally the Early Christian Fathers, Irenaeus, Ambrose and Augustine gave attention to the sacredness and mystical significance of numbers.

Since most of us don’t have time to make a complete study of Numerology, there are a few very good sites on the Internet that have an automatic application that translates the letters into numbers and give a short description of the life path, soul urges and possible intent of that particular soul. Also, If you are stuck in your search for an original baby name, or just curious about how popular a name is; there is an innovative new site, based on the book, “The Baby Name Wizard” by Laura Wattenberg. Not only can you find a name’s origins and meaning, but you can track the names popularity over time and even its popularity state to state. The site is based on extensive research and is very well organized, high tech and user-friendly. (see resources)
