Carnivores catch on… Vegan gets top billing.
As the most talked about bride this year, took her stroll down the aisle last weekend, the public learned that the bride, Chelsea Clinton is a vegan gluten-free lady. With all eyes on the former first daughter wearing a gorgeous Vera Wang gown, the food details of this particular wedding day has given the Vegan Community something to be proud of.
After viewing the stunning photograph of Chelsea being walked down the aisle by her dad, former US President Bill Clinton, what continued to pique my interest was the news of her vegan gluten-free wedding cake and the vegan and vegetarian food choices served to the guests. Being a vegan myself, the couple’s choices reflected ones I made on my wedding day.
Yes, I have read that the happy couple also served burgers, compliments of grass fed animals ... which I would of rather of known wasn’t so. However, I am choosing to focus on the vegan choices that made headlines, and not that it wasn’t a hundred percent vegan wedding as some have pointed out.
When the former first daughter serves vegan food for choices to her wedding guests, you can bet people are going to talk and with that, the vegan lifestyle will be reflected on in good taste.
The possibility that we can all choose to eat less or for some no animal products has just received a loud audience to share it’s thoughts with. Thank you Chelsea and Marc for giving volume to healthy sustainable cruelty-free vegan food choices and for letting us know that the belle of the ball is one of our vegan own.
