A think tank exploring the role of homeostasis in biological processes has uncovered vital information regarding factors contributing to autistic spectrum disorders. This week, The Center For Modeling Optimal Outcomes' Life Sciences Group shared a press release announcing their most recent findings regarding factors causing autism and other neurological disorders.
The release states that "By early 2009, the Life Sciences group of The Center was able to assemble their findings into an explicit, replicable model to explain the corollary, homeostatic relationship between the substances in the body. Grounded on a solid foundation of the laws of physics and chemistry, the Life Sciences group overlaid the model with numerous scientific studies. The results were amazing! The group then used the model to identify specific causal paths for certain illnesses and disease that result from disruptions in pairs of bodily substances. It became apparent that the model could provide the tools medical research scientists need to find the root causes of many chronic diseases."
Dr. Michael Miller, a New Jersey psychologist had been consulted to help direct this research, and the guidance of Dr. Miller and other advisors led to key discoveries. An important contribution to what the group uncovered was existing research by neurosurgeon and neuroscientist Russell Blaylock, M.D., who has written extensively about the "excitotoxic" properties of amino acids aspartame and glutamine when they become out of balance with inhibitory amino acids. Sensitivity to aspartame (artificial sweetener Equal/Nutrasweet) has been associated with dozens of adverse reactions and illnesses, and the food additive MSG (monosodium glutamate) has shown similar toxic potentials. The Life Sciences Group research team examined hundreds of studies concerning autism and autistic spectrum disorders and revisited the controversial research of UK gastroenterologist Andrew Wakefield, who was a prominent advocate of the hypothesis that the MMR vaccine had fostered many cases of autism. Dr. Wakefield is now Executive Director of Thoughtful House Center for Children in Austin, Texas.
The research team discovered several imbalances correlated with autism, noticing that when these imbalances exist concurrently they form a "perfect storm" that produces the autistic spectrum disorders. The amino acids glycine and glutamine were discovered to be a homeostatic pair that regulates cellular absorption. Glycine is an inhibitory amino acid neurotransmitter while glutamine (glutamate) functions as an excitatory amino acid neurotransmitter. Looking closely at the MMR vaccine, the research team recognized that a stabilizer composed of hydrolyzed gelatin has been used in the formulation as well as in some other widely used vaccines. Hydrolyzed gelatin has a substantial amount of glycine, the inhibitory amino acid. The researchers encourage scientists to investigate further how some vaccine ingredients may contribute to disruptions in biological homeostasis and resulting disorders and diseases.

This article is absurd. You make these claims based on a press release which announces unpublished alleged findings from a non-medical group who have performed no experimental work.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
Those researchers did extensive meta-research of existing experimental and epidemiological studies, so they were putting together the information that's already been published and available for anyone to see - anyone who wishes to learn and understand things, that is. Most people in the medical field are either willfully ignoring or fully unaware of relevant evidence pertaining to these subjects since they follow the lead of information sources that heavily filter and censor what information physicians are given. An independent non-medically based group that commissions medical research is probably more likely to produce accurate conclusions than medical researchers dependent on institutions connected to the pharmaceutical industry or industry funding.
A Rebus, you ought be the one who is ashamed. Had you really wanted to, you could look at ALL of EXISTING research and make a truly INFORMED statement rather than the utterly ignorant one you have posted here.
An interesting hypothesis that this group has come up with, but that's ALL it is: a hypothesis. There's nothing extraordinary in devising a hypothesis; what's unusual and praiseworthy is when that hypothesis survives scientific testing. Since this group has done NO scientific testing of their hypothesis, they have done nothing praiseworthy yet.
Even if it were true that they were "independent" (something we don't know; after all, it took years for the truth to come out that Andrew Wakefield had gotten his rigged sample groups from the same lawyers that paid him over $0.5M USD) that wouldn't mean they are better at doing medicine than people trained in medicine. That's wishful thinking. The fact that they are actually taking Wakefield's fraudulent work for a basis does not inspire confidence.
Non-medically-trained business people publicizing a hypothesis that has not even been tested, let alone replicated by others? These are not the hallmarks of breakthrough but of quackery.
Yet another ETHICAL study proving the link of vaccines and autism. Dr. Andrew Wakefield is a wonderful man who exposed the truth and got his career ruined as a result. He got bullied for being a man of honesty. However, men like him get rewarded by Jesus in heaven. What people forget is that this world is temporary. Heaven is ETERNAL.......Their are many who will be sorry for their evil, dishonesty and deception in this life. ETERNAL suffering? NO THANK YOU!
Thankfully the research can continue maybe be soon we will be able to understand the trigger of Autism, its only via research and education we can help avoid this devastating condition Thanks and please continue the great work

thanks for your summation of the Wakefield case from of the university of wikipedia. after over 2 years on trial Wakefield
still HAS NOT BEEN FOUND GUILTY of anything.
there is wide expectation that the case will drawn no verdict.
BRIAN DEER is the guilty one for bringing the case on behalf of the government Glaxo and David Salisbury.
this is the real story of the children

"Dr. Andrew Wakefield is a wonderful man who exposed the truth and got his career ruined as a result. He got bullied for being a man of honesty."
Using a rigged sample group is honesty?? Concealing even from your fellow authors that you were paid $0.5M USD to drive your work to lawyer-specified conclusions, before you even started LOOKING at evidence, is honesty?? Using lab results that you already KNOW are the result of the lab's careless errors, that's honesty??
No, that's not honesty. Wakefield tossed his career in the trash himself by betraying the ethics of his professions. Compared to Andrew Wakefield, Pontius Pilate looks like a saint.
Got something to say?
