There are many benefits to utilizing alternative approaches to wellness. Acupuncture, massage and other modalities have proven health benefits. Before undertaking any alternative treatments, do your research. Educate yourself and work with recommended alternative health professionals. In the Chicago area people have received rewarding results in alternative health. Some share their testimonies below.
Many of the treatments and alternative approaches used today go back many centuries such as Chinese herbs and Iridology; the science and practice of analyzing the iris of the eye to reveal levels of health, inflammation, toxicity, and degeneration in the human body. Acupuncture and acupressure are based on ancient Japanese and Chinese medicine. In acupuncture, special needles are inserted into points just under the skin to promote pain relief and healing. In acupressure, pressure is placed on similar points for the same purposes.
Naturopathy or naturopath medicine is an alternative medical system that focuses on natural remedies and the body’s vital ability to heal and maintain itself.
Massage is another one of the oldest healing arts. Chinese records date back 3,000 years document its use; the ancient Hindus, Persians and Egyptians applied forms of massage for many ailments; and Hippocrates wrote papers recommending the use of rubbing and friction for joint and circulatory problems. Massage is the application of soft-tissue manipulation techniques to the body, generally intended to reduce stress and fatigue while improving circulation.
People share rewarding experience they gained with the use of alternative health:
Herbalist, Medina J. Nance of Chicago helped one woman with cervical and ovarian cancer using the herb cats claw and other herbs. It has been at least ten years and her cancer is in remission.
With a tight economy it is nice to be able to find great affordable therapeutic services. One doctor in Chicago says she loves massages, as they are so relaxing and so necessary. They aid in toxin removal and increases oxygen flow through out the body. She goes to Cortiva Institute, in downtown Chicago. Soma Institute is another Massage Therapy school that offers affordable massages to the public.
The Naturopathic treatment of Dr. Suhail U. Deen is highly recommended. A colon therapist of Chicago praises his work. “This brother is very spiritual. He knows the human body like no other. Stress from this world has an affect on your body, that stress brings aches and pain. Dr. Suhail knows how to get it out.”
Another woman who works a stressful job in education suggests Dr. Sunni, a naturopath who combines supplements; massage therapy, and energy therapies such as body talk and EFT. “I recently had severe back pain. She suggested I try the external use of body magic, internal cleansing, emotional freedom technique (EFT), and particular supplements. I now have no back pain, I can stand up straight.”
Another woman praises the work of an excellent wellness/chiropractor who uses a lot of kinesiology and nutrition. She says, “I enjoy the relaxation of acupuncture and massage.” She lives outside of Chicago.
A woman dealing with a painful condition called Fibromyalgia found relief with herbs. “I take Fibralgia, a natural supplement with malic acid, found naturally in high concentrations in apples and other fruits and vegetables, for cellular energy production and magnesium, used to help with the absorption of vitamins and minerals, to promote bone strength and to regulate nerve impulses. Herbalist, Marguerite Wright of Chicago’s south suburbs recommended this program. “It’s cut my severe pain levels and I take half the pain killers that I use to. I have seen an increase in energy and an overall decrease in pain. I trust Marguerite for my own personal health. It’s our greatest gift. She has dramatically improved my health. It works. She cares. What more can I say?”

I've tried quite a few of your recommendations. They do work. Never heard of irodology though. I'll have to check into that.
