This week in college hockey:
Minnesota-Duluth is number one in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine national poll. Five CCHA teams rank in the top 15; Notre Dame (4), Ohio State (7), Michigan (9), Ferris State (12) and Western Michigan (14) give the CCHA a strong national presence.
Ohio State is sitting at the top of the CCHA standings going into the weekend with a recored of 10-6-4-1, followed closely by Miami and Western Michigan. It's a tight race overall, with eighth place Michigan State only six points out of first heading into the final month of regular season play.
Red Wings prospect Riley Sheahan has continues to have a strong season for the Fighting Irish, putting up seven goals and 21 points so far this season, good for third on the team and 14th in the league.
