"Twenty-five years ago, we thought we could go from a manufacturing economy to a service economy and it just turned out to be wrong. Now we have to think about growing output 6-7% a year just to get back on track. We need a re-purposing of this economy. This 25-year trend has to stop."

"Volkswagen and Toyota are leading the marketplace.  If you eliminate the union can Ford become number one?"  --CMU student.

"We’re very happy with our Union workforce. Together we’ve gotten a lot done. I’m 4th generation at Ford. We have lots of families working at Ford they love the company, they love what they’re doing, they’re 4th generation, 5th generation."  --Bill Ford | Executive Chairman, Ford Motor Co.

USW members were enthusiastically represented on the panel by Leo W. Gerard, International President.  "Retrofitting public buildings to generate work, wind turbines, and wind farms made in America would get the steel industry back to work."
