Meriwether Lewis' family seeks to solve mystery of his death

Recently, I wrote about the Meriwether Lewis National Monument. It is in the news again because his family wants to know the truth about his death.
There has always been a mystery surrounding Meriwether Lewis’ death. The story is that one night in October 1809 he stopped at a small inn, located near Hohenwald Tennessee, for the night. By morning he was dead. It has never been known if he committed suicide or was killed by thieves or political adversaries. Now, his family wants to exhume him to see if they can find out the truth about his death.
