Smooth jazz legend, Sade, will be making a return after a 10 year hiatus, with a new album in 2010 titled Soldier of Love. Sade's last effort was 2000's Lover's Rock which included the hits, " By Your Side" and " King of Sorrow". At the present, there is very little information regarding the new album but according to hiphopdx.com, R&B sensation Maxwell has apparently had a listen to a few of the tracks on the new album and had this to say about them: "Trust me, it's so monolithic it'll shake you in your shoes!"
Sade rose to fame during the mid 80's with her debut album Diamond Life which included the critically acclaimed hits such as " Your Love is King" and " Smooth Operator". Even those who do not listen to jazz music will have most likely heard either of these songs at one point or another. Sade herself, is known for her melodic and soothing voice coupled with live instrumentation from her jazz band. Together they have sold nearly 50 million units worldwide.
Sade's re-emergence in the current music scene should prove to be interesting. Stay tuned.
