Guess Ja Rule has learned nothing from his fellow rappers. As he is now the next in line to serve some time on a gun possession charge. Ja is facing about three and a half years on the inside, for a gun charge that stems from 2007 in Manhattan.
The rapper tried to have the case dismissed, but found out this morning(1/20) that his dismissal request was denied in a Manhattan Supreme Court. His lawyer said they were aiming for a dismissal on the grounds that the police had no real cause to search Ja's vehicle in the first place. But the courts apparently felt differently, as they are having Ja come back to court on March 3, 2010. Basically what happened is, the police did a search on Ja's vehicle after a concert that took place at the Beacon Theatre. In the car they found a .40 caliber handgun and marijuana. They tested the gun and found Ja's DNA on it. This all led to the current situation. Oddly enough this all went down an hour after Lil Wayne's arrest for the exact same thing, which is the cause for him doing time starting next month. No further info is available at this time. Should anything else come out, I'll do an update.
