Raised with some of the best inventors of hip hop music, Kevin "A.K.A." Johnson shows he was an excellent student and then some.

A.K.A. is the nephew of George Clinton, creater of Parliament-Funkadelic and 420 Funk Mob, Enemy Squad. A.K.A. says "everyone in 420 funk mob Clip is one of his influences" and gives "a big shout out to his fam and a very talented individual, Lawrence "L*A*W Worrell". It was their "p-funk" that taught him the best lessons he has taken into his artistry.

A.K.A. also counts LL Cool J as one of his influences and feels his music reflects his flow and style. A.K.A. writes, "you wont catch him talking about gang banging or anything ignorant." Rather, he specializes in being a storyteller and has spread his talent throughout Washington state.

A prolific creator of mix-tapes, you can find A.K.A.'s songs on If You Hear any Noise, It's Just Me and the Boys and I Am Remix. He is currently advertising on his facebook his current mixtape projects and his search for artists with whom he can collaborate. Of course, his song Hold Her Hand in the Club, featuring Greg Double G and Uncle Moo, is track number 10 on the Puget Sound Mixtape.

A.K.A was most recently seen at the Woodshed Studios on July 10. Keep up to date on his upcoming performances at his reverbnation page and his status updates on facebook.

To learn more about A.K.A, check out his reverbnation page, facebook page, and his twitter. He also has a youtube channel and Bebo page. His track, Rep your City, found on his reverbnation page is for sale on CDBaby. A.K.A. believes "from the first listen you will become a fan. Promise."

Readers can download the entire Unofficial Puget Sound Mixtape at Datpiff and Zshare.
